Pro Bowl

Post by bluehenbillk »

What was that?

I turned it on midway thru the 1st qtr, saw the defensive linemen playing patty-cake with the O-Line & prompty turned it off.

I'm sorry I thought it was football. I read it was some kind of environmental event last night - 70% of the players sidn't need water during the game nor did they need a shower afterwards.

I watched 30 seconds and saw Reeves completely give up on a sure interception in the endzone.

Might as well have had a 7-on-7 flag game.

They should just do away with the game completely. Name the "All Pro" team and move on.

I watched about 8 minutes of the first quarter and turned the channel. The defensive linemen were counting to 5-mississippi....

Yep, don't know how much tickets sold for - but look for sparse crowds in the future if it'll be a repeat of yesterday.

Seriously, what Pro-Bowl, or for that matter what all star football game have you ever seen that was not a total waste of time?

It's like the prior Pro Bowls have been explosive action packed nail biters.

^^Truth^^

Problem is it should not decide the world series home field. Other than that, it's the best all star game.

Well, that kinda depends on how managers take care of who goes in when, right?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Baloney. I only watched some of the 2nd half because I was in a sports bar and the choices were an NBA game (I don't give a s*it about the NBA) and the Pro Bowl. I saw a bunch of 1/4 to 3/4 speed football. NO ONE was trying maybe except for the receiver & DB directly involved on the play.

I last watched a pro bowl 15-20 years ago and said never again because the players obviously weren't close to giving 100%. I see nothing has changed. Probably will be 15-20 years till I watch another one.

There were guys trying. Go watch some highlights from later in the game. It started out with the d-line essentially doing nothing but ended up with them actually trying to get to the QB. The kickoff coverage went from slow and bored to guys laying hits.

Was everyone trying? No. But there were some guys giving it everything.

Maybe a couple of guys on a couple of plays. Clearly most guys on most plays weren't putting much effort in:

The only highlight play where all the DL looked like they were trying was the pick 6 off of Cam Newton with 5+ min in the 4th.
