Chucktown Throwdown is back on

Post by CSUBUCDAD »

Glad to see the boys in baby blue have healed enough from the last go round to step into the ring again. Great way to open the season with a night game @ Haygood.

No offense BucDad, but that is a terrible schedule. At Shorter? Really? Then add another sub D1 in Edward Waters. I'll admit, I don't know CSU's situation...maybe they need these games for financial reasons. Just not good to see an FCS team travelling to a lower div.

Here's the full slate:

9/1 @Citadel
9/8 Jacksonville
9/15 @Illinois
9/22 @Shorter
10/6 @Stony Brook
10/13 VMI
10/20 Presby
10/27 Edward Waters
11/3 @Liberty
11/10 Gardner-Webb
11/17 @Coastal

Yep, I couldn't figure that one out either other than it is also a private Christian school so they most likely signed a home and home contract. CSU has a history of playing other private Christian schools regardless of classification so I guess the trend continues with Shorter.

So it's not totally out of left field then?

The football stadium at Shorter University seats 6,500 people, which is more than the CSU field currently does.

Man, there's nothing that pisses me off more than a school with a track around the field.

;) Not a bad looking facility for a sub D1

CSU is only playing one FBS school this year. Can we assume that Shorter laid out a pretty good guarantee?

If you guys don't beat Shorter, you'll be 0-7 going into the Edward Waters game.

CSU was beaten down by a D3 last year if I'm not mistaken.
You would be right JAWs. CSU got thier assess spanked.

As I said last season after that game, Wesley College was a damn good team. They went to the Semis in the playoffs and lost by a touchdown to the eventual national champion. Go back and watch the video of that game and you will see what I mean.
