BB: I don't think the issue is with you, per se, or most of the other Bison fans. It's the swill spewed by the two trolls who claim allegiance to your school and give you guys a major black eye. I think we'd all be happy if there were a way to stuff them in a broom closet somewhere while simultaneously honoring the good sportsmanship the rest of you display (especially those like WyoBisonMan, a poster of the best quality) on a daily basis. We've just about had it up to HERE with those dummies, however.

I understand, and I know many of the UND fans are good guys also. I just take issue with NDSU being blamed for the problems that are going on up North. I have said many times that Hockey rules the roost up at UND and all other sports are an afterthought. This latest round of chickanery proves that.

I would sign it too, just so the Sky has a "reason" to kick UND out. I'd don't care at all about some nickname issue (although the whole thing has become a big annoyance) and I don't have anything against UND. But let's face it, they are not a good fit for the conference.

That is why I brought up about Bison fans...also why would the petitioners go to the Fargodome during a Bison game or to West Acres. At least you may catch some UND fans at the mall but at a Bison playoff game?? Seems a little fishy there.

It was my Lakes' like exaggeration. A lot of Bison fans are good people and UND doesn't blame NDSU. Of course when some post things like lets sign the petition and stick it to em. It makes your fan base look bad. Just like those that say we have hockey, to hell with the Big Sky...they make UND's fan base look bad.

Now I will throw out another question, if it does come to a vote will UND push for "NO" votes even if it looks like just no logo for championship games/ current sanctions?

I feel it might be a high risk to keep the nickname myself. I don't mind the nickname and like the fact that they are fighting back with the NCAA but at what cost for doing so?

If I had to vote today I would say no. The reason is because now is a great time to change the logo if you are ever going to do it. The University has moved to Division I and it can mark a new time in its history with a new nickname.

Why dont you get smart? You have no understanding of the issue. Nobody is making them give up anything. The rules simply state keep the name and you cant host NCAA sponsored tournament events and the have to wear neutral jerseys at any NCAA championship event. That means playoffs etc.

This. All UND had to do was keep their mouth shut, sit down and live out their lives comfortably in a viable athletic conference. Now all this rebirth of the nickname issue does is give Fullerton a chance at fixing his resounding thud of the UND addition. I don't care one way or another about the nickname issue, but if it can result in UND getting booted and thus reducing athletic expenditures at a time when budgets are tight, then I am all for it.

For years UND alums have joined the coalition in Fargo that has voted down many NDSU bonding issues. They took great delight in killing a lot of NDSU building projects. Now everyone in the NDSU coalition has a chance to stand above all that. It's time to stand with them in their great struggle against repression. Clearly they lack the skills needed to prevail on their own.
