"When it comes to adult entertainment, it seems people are more the same than different," says Benjamin Edelman at Harvard Business School.

However, there are some trends to be seen in the data. Those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption, the study finds.

"Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by," Edelman says.

Cap, I'd be a bit cautionary about that study. I was reading the subscription rate per 1000 based upon zip code BILLING data...

SLC, Utah has one of, if not the largest, prepaid credit card processing centers in the U.S. I've had to deal with them for my kids. Everytime you go into a Supermarket or minimart and see those prepaid credit cards, if you look up the "contact" address/phone, the address comes back to the "issuing" processing center, the one I had to deal with, Only1 Visa...P.O. Box 71402 Salt Lake City, UT 84171...is actually a large processing center that handles a number of different prepaid credit card brand names...Only1, UltraVX, PayXone, VIP Select, First Vineyard, iPower Visa, ValorCard, InFusion, BuyRight, WiredPlastic, and (my personal favorite) NMBAAdvantagecard (no, not MNBA, nmba...cute, huh?).
Anyway, people also often use the 84171 zip code (SLC main post office) as the contact for donations. If you research political contributions, as was done with all the Obama "anonymous" contributions that Congress pressured the FEC and AG to ignore, you'll find a high number of them will list that zip code...i.e., they were made with prepaid credit cards.

I don't really trust folks in the LDS Church, but I've never run across any (non-jack mormons) who regularly violated their doctrine, and I know/met/have worked with quite a few. Sure there are "jack mormons"...many of them American Indian and Islanders who come in via missionary recruitment, and yes, many of them I know drink, etc... but rarely of the "non-jack" type.
