New York Knicks Led by a Harvard Guy

Post by Ivytalk »

With Jeremy Lin (Harvard '10) starting at point guard, the NY Knicks are 2-0! Lin had 28 points last night in a win over Utah. :notworthy: First American-born player of Chinese/Taiwanese descent in NBA history.

As a long-time Knicks fan who has often held his nose over this organization for a long, long time, this kid is a breath of fresh air. For the first time in many years, I actually like the guys the Knicks have on the team, including Lin.

There's a piece in today's WSJ comparing Lin to Tim Tebow!

Really? When I was a kid, I couldn't imagine a team with classier players: Reed, Frazier, DeBusschere, Bradley, Monroe, Lucas. But in recent years the stench of that team, all the way to the front office, was too much even for the most devoted fans. Things started turning around when they hired Donnie Walsh.

Spike's actually fun to watch at a game. He's certainly a fan!

Lin-Sanity against the Lakers tonight. He's off to a big start.

Greeted before the game by Spike himself. He's official.

Spike needs to go away, far far away. I am sure the idiot island, S.A. Smith, Jessie Jackson, and Al Sharpton, could use some company.

If he leads them to the playoffs, then yea, the comparisons will never end.

Yeah, but when was the last time Yo-Yo Ma had a double-double? 8-)

7 Knicks in double figures last night -- and Lin had 13 assists to go with his 10 points. And he only played 26 minutes.

I love when defenders guard the pass and Lin then takes it right by them. I love when defenders guard Lin, and he dishes. He's creating things we haven't seen in New York for years and making everyone on the court better.

You might say he makes music just as sweet as Yo-Yo Ma.

Last night, it was clear that Sacramento was trying to deny him chances to score, so he just dished off.

Now that he's officially an NBA star, when does he get his first tattoo?

Lin is changing the world's perceptions of Asians overnight.

When he hit that game winner against Toronto it gave an all new meaning to the term "happy ending".

Guy is modest though - name another NBA player that fixes the scoreboard at timeouts & dry cleans his own jersey??
