Seriously??? I guess that they aren't tuning in to see a football game then. European soccer has great crowds........you can always watch them! :) :thumb:

MJ- this is a sports board, please don't go off topic with soccer....
Or how big crowds are at FCS football games.

A. - 8,000 fans with no empty seats
B. - 20,000 fans with 5,000 empty seats.

I hate seeing those empty bleachers at MAC games. I think I flip away from those games thinking more about the empty seats than I do about the size of the crowd.
C. A match-ups between heated rivals and/or Top 25 teams.

I think the UD-ODU rematch is a mortal lock. Lots of other good games to choose.

No, Nova would get a HOME game before UR did because of national name recognition.

I see about zero chance UR gets a home game. I see a slim chance Nova gets one.
That makes no sense. VILLANOVA at Delaware is really different than Maine at VILLANOVA? The name is still there. When people tuned in and saw Villanova's stadium and crowd (or lack there of) they'd immediately realize this aint Big East basketball.
UR home games:
ODU
JMU
URI
UD

Nova home games:
URI
UR
Towson
JMU

Sure, looks like UR hosts 3 quality CAA opponents to Nova's 2. Neither team IMHOP should get a nat televised home game. In terms of stadiums Nova because of an avg looking 12.5k half full stadium or UR with a small but very nice looking 8.7k stadium that might look full (depending on what game & how UR is doing). Even if you give UR a stadium edge, Nova more than makes up for that due to a far bigger national recognition. I stand by my statement:

"I see about zero chance UR gets a home game and a slim chance that Nova gets one." and add "but neither team should IMHOP."

Oct. 20 - UNH at Maine......2 longtime rivals, both made the playoffs in 2011, beautiful fall weather and New England foliage on tap.

Bite me.

You keep coming back to this. I can only assume you mean that a passing fan might watch if they hear Villanova's name. Why do they have to be the home team to have the name recognition?

Nova @ Richmond
Richmond @ Nova

Is there really a difference in name recognition? Give the choice of which looks better on TV, IMO it goes to UR.

You're asking a board dominated by a few FCS schools whether Maine should have a home game televised?

That's some scientific research right there! :thumb:

How many of you wold like to see a rematch of the JMU/Maine classic from last season where Maine marched into Harrisonburg and won on a 2-pt conversion in OT that was voted one of the best college football plays of the year and shown over and over again on ESPN? :thumb:

How many of you would like to see the only 2 New England teams left in the CAA, one of the longest college football rivalries in the country and both teams coming off playoff appearances to boot? :thumb:

Delaware vs. anyone?......meh. They didn't even make the playoffs last season. And Nova???.....please, they are an also ran now and have been horrible for a few seasons.

Yeah........I really envy a tiny sh*tsville state off a freeway, a fan base that actually exceeds Maine in blue hairs, and a football program that didn't even make the playoffs last season.

Yup......yo got me pegged! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Well, to a historically strong program like Delaware one down season seems like an eternity.

BTW, sucked? 7-4 and generally being seen as one of the three teams that was last out of the playoffs. Only making the playoffs twice in the last eight years and winning only one game... now that would suck.
