What an ugly ugly game. Lot of missed calls/wrong calls for both teams. That one near the end where Selvig hammered a Bobcat shooting a three and nothing. It should have made the game really interesting but...I guess, lucky break.
It should also be noted that Selvig was absolutely mauled all night by a rotating cast of pussycat thugs, and received ZERO attention from the refs. Thankfully, the overwhelming disparity of talent carried the day, and the Griz handled MSU in a game not nearly as close as the final score indicated.

Good to see the Hornets close out with a win. Gives us double digit wins (10) for the first time in too long, 5 of those being BSC wins. The Hornets lost too many close games both in conference and out for the 3rd straight season. The only good thing here is almost everyone returns.

Do you really want that? There's a chance Weber could win the league without beating the Griz if the Griz lose to MSU.

It's the way it should be, the top 2 teams going at it for the right to host in the last reg season game of the year.

Updated Women's Seeding Scenarios

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Everyone has one game left except Sac.

If Montana & EWU end up tied, that will result in a tie for 3rd. that will come down to RPI (regardless of what the other teams do, in fact—NoCo is guaranteed 2nd. and MSU is guaranteed 5th.). Eastern is the favorite to win that, but it's too close to say with any certainty. A scenario where that team would have to win the RPI tiebreaker to fulfill it is denoted with an asterisk (*). A double asterisk (**) denotes that they would have to lose the RPI tiebreaker.

Eastern Washington beats Idaho State 81-75 in the first Big Sky Conference quarterfinal game.

Montana State and Portland State play each other in the second quarterfinal game tonight. We could see Cat Griz III this season in the semis if Montana State wins tonight.

Interesting note: Coach Hayford has never had a losing season. We would have to get into the big dance for that to happen. :? 8-)

Laurie Kelly Leaves NAU

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Lumberjack WBB coach Laurie Kelly has left the NAU program to become the head coach at DIII Gustavus Adolphus.

http://nauathletics.com/sports/wbkb/201 ... 0420pqsxnr

It seems like an odd move, but her family is apparently in MN. I'm guessing she also saw the writing on the wall since she was basically in a Joe O'Brien-esque lame-duck situation. Kelly would have been entering the final year of her contract with three-straight Big Sky Tournament misses & five-straight seasons in the bottom half. I was actually a little surprised she wasn't fired 6 weeks ago.
