Sucks for Weber.

It looks like they're gonna show the highlights on Sportscenter in a couple minutes.
"Big Sky's Big Star" is the title they're showing in the queue.

Must suck for Weber for their guy not to be the headline tonight.Mvemjsunpx wrote:It looks like they're gonna show the highlights on Sportscenter in a couple minutes.

Well, Weber can at least take solace that Lillard still owned ESPN's highlight package.Mvemjsunpx wrote:It looks like they're gonna show the highlights on Sportscenter in a couple minutes.

They did show Cherry's deke against Wheelwright, though.

Weissner (sp?) had a fantastic game coming off the bench for a guy that doesn't play a ton.

How was the crowd? It sounded great at times and very subdued at other times. I wish I could have made it but didn't have it in me.Vidav wrote:Weissner (sp?) had a fantastic game coming off the bench for a guy that doesn't play a ton.

Yeah. I was surprised to see him out there so quick, given that Stockton was the only bench player to get significant minutes the last 3 games.Vidav wrote:Weissner (sp?) had a fantastic game coming off the bench for a guy that doesn't play a ton.

It was awesome. They really got into it in the second half. Tinkle was getting everyone on their feet and cheering like crazy.grizzaholic wrote:How was the crowd? It was the first time I had been to a bball game where the crowd felt as energetic as a at a football game.

Great to hear. I bet Tinks will be a little more hoarse than usual tomorrow.Vidav wrote:It was awesome. They really got into it in the second half. Tinkle was getting everyone on their feet and cheering like crazy.grizzaholic wrote:

Yep, crowd was amazing...best of the season by far. Will Cherry was fantastic, and Coach Tinkle did a fantastic job of scheming for the Wildcats. What's left to be said? The Tourney is back in Missoula Baby!

How depressing, oh well, congrats on the title Montana, you guys definetely deserved it more than we did. Hopefully we meet again, because I am willing to bet we wont shoot as poorly as we did last night

Well, I'm willing to bet the Griz won't miss 5-6 layups like they did last night either.Wildcat Ryan wrote:How depressing, oh well, congrats on the title Montana, you guys definetely deserved it more than we did. I like our chances with the game in Missoula.

Re: Montana vs Weber State
I never get tired of this. Another Regular Season Conference Championship in the bag, and the Grizzlies continue to improve. Last night's tilt with Weber State was an impressive embodiment of that old truism about "peaking at the right time."
Of course, such success is no accident, and it starts at the very top. I had the opportunity to chat with President Royce Engstrom on Saturday night after the absolute demolition of the msu bobcats (we were both enjoying a cold beer in the Sky Club). A wonderful fellow who is genuinely committed to keeping Grizzly Athletics in the "1%" nationally.
Next in line is Jim O'Day. The singular focus with which he goes about his business is one of the Pillars of Grizzly Athletics Success. The Wizard of Wa-Griz! The Darling of Dahlberg!
Finally, if there exists a superlative to describe Coach Wayne Tinkle that hasn't already been used, please PM me!
These Grizzlies are something special folks. The real deal (as they say).

Re: Montana vs Weber State
What a great week for Montana GRIZ basketball! Winning the right to host next week.
Today, Will Cherry, and Kareem Jamar named 1st team all conference
Will Cherry- Defensive Player of the year
Art Steward, Derek Selvig- 2nd team all conference
Tinkle-likely to be name coach of the year.
AS for Weisner, the GRIZ were slowly getting him minutes this season. Around the new year, he got a nasty ankle sprain, and just now got completely healthy. He is a very solid player. He is not the only solid player with little playing time this season. Listen for the names of Kevin Henderson, Keron Deshields, and Jordan Gregory over the next few years too. Very talented young players the GRIZ have landed the past few years.

I'm surprised Ward didn't even get honorable mention, but pretty much everything else about the all-conference stuff looks right on.mtgrizfan4life wrote:What a great week for Montana GRIZ basketball! Winning the right to host next week.
