Sac State upsets EWU in the first QF game, getting their first-ever Big Sky Tournament win in the process. The Eagles really fell apart down the stretch this season after a strong start.
Jamie Craighead should get a lot of credit this season. Her Hornets could have totally thrown in the towel 4 weeks ago when they were 3-9 and 3 games out of 6th. after getting drilled in Missoula. They haven't lost since.
Montana State beats Montana by 9 in the other game, thus ending what was probably the most disappointing season in Lady Griz history. The only positive for Montana is that they don't lose any key players in the offseason.
MSU almost blew a 14-point lead in the final 3 minutes. UM scored 10 in a row quickly & forced a turnover with about a minute left, but couldn't convert when given a chance to cut it to one possession.
"What I'm saying is: You might have taken care of your wolf problem, but everyone around town is going to think of you as the crazy son of a bitch who bought land mines to get rid of wolves."
NoCo beats the Bobcats in an offensively-challenged first semifinal game. That brings an end to the 2011-12 saga of inconsistency & disappointment surrounding DI women's basketball in the state of Montana (though MSU may be good enough for a WBI bid).
That was also UNC's first-ever Big Sky Tournament win.
#1 Cal Poly went down in the Big West girls tournament today. Why not #1 in the Sky?

If this were football, this would be the worst matchup imaginable. But in the rare air of girls hoops, this will probably be a very good game.
(IF the zebras don't get too involved, that is.)
