And, Mike Kramer is coaching at Idaho State...what's your point, numb nuts?
Now, now… let's not be too hard on BSB. There's only so many losses a fan can take before he goes to pieces.
I know. I've gone completely numb to the losses. It's hard to admit, but years and years of this shit and I guess that's what happens. I won't even have many expectations for this upcoming season. The program is so pitiful right now. For example, we have our Old, old coach (the one before Downing) advising our pathetic offensive coordinator. Dalton was fired over 6 years ago and now he's advising some our coaches.
Back on topic...I wouldn't be surprised to see the coach from Carroll get the gig. He seems ready for the next level.

This is not as unlikely as many might think. If Parcells takes the HC position for the Saints, it pushes his Hall of Fame entrance back another 5 years. Manning the helm in Missoula would have no such effect, and give Big Tuna a very legit opportunity to add a National Championship to his already sterling resume.
He's not a shoo-in for the job, however. A little bird has told me that Pete Carroll is maneuvering to get out of Seattle, and back into the college game (for which he is far better suited). Carroll would bring with him some baggage though...would Engstrom be willing to look past that in order to land someone with such a high profile?
Brock Landers wrote:**** Carroll. He needs to continue being Harbaugh's bitch
I kind've agree...but if he were to step forward as being truly interested in the job, Royce would obviously need to give him a serious look.
This is all little more than an exercise in speculation, conjecture and supposition of course. We've got a more than capable interim HC in Mick Delaney, and an embarrassment of pride, talent and character amongst the returning players (pending favorable court outcomes, of course).

I don't ever expect to see UM hiring a HC from a lower division, especially from a lower, lower division so again the MVD option will never be considered for long.
I don't think that is totally true. Did we not try to hire Brian Kelly former HC at Grand Valley State who is now the HC at Notre Dame, or was it Chuck Martin, same school?

Fellas, perhaps UM should be thinking outside the box.
How about Odyssey Roosevelt-Jones, Deputy Corrections Officer for the Biloxi, MS State Penitentiary? She knows absolutely nothing about football, except how to deep fry one, but she'll definitely seize control of the locker room and keep the boys in line.

We're trying to have an intelligent, rational conversation here discussing the relative merits of various candidates for the Head Coaching Position at the University of Montana.
I'm sure that there's a time and a place for your snide little bits of nonsense and goofery, but this ain't it.
Try taking something seriously for a change...I think you'll find it surprisingly satisfying!

It's increasingly rare (and wonderfully refreshing) to have one's constructive criticism of a Fellow Forumite taken seriously!
You're a good man D1...a good man indeed!
And so, now that we've dispatched with that bit of business...I'd love to get your thoughts on how Bill (Big Tuna) Parcells might fit in to the Missoula situation! How 'bout Pete Carroll?
Brock Landers wrote:Sounds like Delaney will be the coach for the entire 2012 season. Assuming player turnover doesn't cripple us, we may still make the playoffs yet!
It's the only logical solution. Gonna take a few months to get a good AD in place, and you can hardly bring in a new football coach in August.

We're trying to rid the program of sleeze, not bring in more, thank you very much.
I had the misfortune to grow up with the Petrinos in Helena, and can say with some authority that both Bobby and Paul (his younger brother and OC at Arkansas) are Class A D-Bags. With any luck, our great state is rid of these guys for good.

CHS or HHS?
HHS (Petrinos went to CHS).
I should add that I've never met their dad (Bob Petrino, Sr.), but he was a very highly regarded HC at Carroll College for years and years. My low opinion of his sons isn't meant to reflect at all on him.
