Pick your World Series Winner!
Poll is limited to 10 choices, so don't bitch if your team isn't on there (Braves fans
). Who do you think is going to win the WS this year?

Listen, I haven't followed baseball in years, but I've always been a huge Braves fan. Having said that, We all know the Braves get so far and then blow it.AZGrizFan wrote:Poll is limited to 10 choices, so don't bitch if your team isn't on there (Braves fans). You do realize the Reds have no chance of finishing higher than 3rd in their division, don't you?SuperHornet wrote:Sorry, AZ, but I gotta go off the board here.

This is a 'who you THINK wins the World Series", not a "who you WANT to win the World Series".SuperHornet wrote:Sorry, AZ, but I gotta go off the board here.

Note, I voted for the Angels.

I'll remember this when the BRM makes the playoffs.CitadelGrad wrote:You do realize the Reds have no chance of finishing higher than 3rd in their division, don't you?
I may be crazy (OK, I admit it. I AM crazy.), but I firmly believe that BRM will win the Series.AZGrizFan wrote:This is a 'who you THINK wins the World Series", not a "who you WANT to win the World Series".

They have to beat history to start with. The Tigers haven't made the post-season two years in a row since 1944-1945. I'm hoping that changes this year.
Imagine next year if Victor Martinez comes back healthy. Cabrera, Fielder and V-Mart batting 3,4,5.

Very close in 1967, losing the last game of the season that would have forced a playoff with the Red Sox, before winning in 1968.AshevilleApp wrote:Ivytalk wrote:Tigers. Why not?

That pennant race got me hooked. The Twins had to win 1 game against the Red Sox and didn't. Tigers and Twins finished 1 game out and White Sox 3...........and Yankees 20 games out.AshevilleApp wrote:Correct.Gil Dobie wrote:

Me as well. Wasn't it Lonborg that beat the Twins? Tigers needed to sweep a doubleheader to force the playoff, but lost the second game to the Angels.Gil Dobie wrote:That pennant race got me hooked. Correct.
Living in the Detroit area, the Tigers were the only bright spot in the summer of '67. We literally had tanks on my street a few months earlier.

I saw the HBO special on the Detroit Riots, A City on Fire, the Story of the '68 Tigers. Must have been surreal living in Detroit during those 2 years.

More for my parents than for me. I was 6 when the '67 riots occurred, and thought it was kind of cool having soldiers all over the place. It sucked not being able to go outside and play though.Gil Dobie wrote:Yes, Longborg beat Chance, battle of 20 game winners.AshevilleApp wrote:
