First team in history to beat a 1 and a 2 seed in conference playoffs - winning 8 of 9 games.

They will start on the road, again, against either the 3 seed (Phx) or the 4 seed (NSH)
It’s been an amazing run with a nice sweep of the hapless Blues. Hopefully PHX can close out their series and we can enjoy an all southwestern matchup. 8-)

BTW how busy is the Staples Center staff? The Kings rolling with the Lake show moving on plus the Clippers making the post season. Somebody’s pockets have been getting stuffed the past few weeks.

That would be a great series.

Heard an interview a week ago with the Staples Center GM - he isn't getting a whole lot of sleep right now, with all three tenants in the post season, and doing well

Agreed, I think it will end tomorrow night in Philly, but if it doesn't book a Game 6 Devils victory. Devils forwards just dominating the Flyers D & the Flyers are fighting themselves as much as anybody - totally off their game & will be out of their game probably after another 60 minutes.

Just don't let the Rangers or Devils win the Cup & I'll be content.
Shame that Claude will be on nacho duty for Game 5...

Totally unfair that Ovi got away with the headshot on Girardi and can play in the Caps-Rags Game 5, but that Giroux gets his azz suspended...

I'll consider myself pretty neutral in this as I'm a Flyers fan & like nothing about either the Caps or the Rangers.

If I'm a Caps fan today I'd wanna beat the *** out of Ward after pulling that stunt last night. WTF was he thinking basically crosschecking a guy across the face on a faceoff with a minute or less left in regulation. His double-minor, which was the right call, cost them 2 goals by playing shorthanded.

Way to go, douchebag.

It should be a good series. If the Kings continue their roll, I'm thinking PHX might win a game. ;)

Phoenix has played well too - only losing two OT games to Chicago, and one game to Nashville.

Smith is a beast. Kinda funny though, to be sitting in a bar and listening to all the bandwagon fans (like me  ) cheering as the end of the game approaches. :tothehand:

It was careless at best. Sounds like you're in the camp with some others who thought that was intentional. No effing way. Wings battle hard on every faceoff. He just got turned and the stick came up.

All the Caps had to do was win the next faceoff. There was only 21 seconds left and an empty net. They win the faceoff and the Rangers probably don't get a shot off.

OK - I amend my statement now - looking at it a second time, it was even worse than I thought.

Looked like he was swinging a baseball bat with an uppercut.

And , no I didn't play organized hockey for school, but I worked for 3 professional hockey teams over a span of 8 years.

I know you're a Caps fan, but watch the replay, really. Watch his right hand/arm the whole way, no hesitation - just wham! On top of it being a dirty play, it was a flat out stupid play to hit a guy in the mouth of all places - where you're most likely to draw blood, which no doubt resulted in the extra 2 minutes and the game-winning powerplay goal.

Me being a Caps fan has little to do with it as a VAST majority of Caps fans think like you.

You can say it was a dirty play until you are blue in the face, but you'd still be wrong. EVERY hockey player I've talked to about it agrees with me. Most fans who don't play hockey agree with you.

Nothing wrong with bandwagoning in hockey. Hell it’s not even worth watching until the playoffs. (Same goes for the NBA, hell it’s probably not even worth watching until the 2nd round.)

Two kinds of hockey I like: playoff hockey and olympic hockey. Why? No fighting....(or very little, at least).

Great sports spring we're having in Philadelphia. Flyers go down for the last time without a whimper. :ohno:

Either you're being sarcastic or you completely missed the Pens-Flyers series.

Hey, it's a miracle I'm watching the 'Yotes games. I don't have the energy to watch OTHER hockey games too. :tothehand:

Watching the Flyers be dismissed last night I have a bone to pick with a relatively new playoff hockey tradition - one that needs to stop.

After the handshake line, when the home team loses they all gather & raise their sticks & salute the fans who actually sit there & cheer for their team saying thanks for a great season guys. Huh? OK, if you're an underdog & you fight & claw your way through a long, tough series maybe but the way the Flyers played against the Devils I was almost embarassed watching some of those sheep there after the handshakes last night.

I was at the 2010 NC debacle in Frisco & I can tell you there weren't any UD fans standing up & clapping & cheering after losing the NC game. People couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Verdict on this new thing: a BIG
