He was contributing nothing to the conversation and saying my idea of the basketball schools I was considering sucked and clearly just trying to pick a fight. Just saw a story on twitter Hampton is trying to join the Colonial Athletic Association the story came from the Richmond Times Dispatch and from what the story said Hampton has been trying to gain access to the CAA for quite sometime and Norfolk St maybe next on the list to join if they choose too join as well!!!!

The CAA does not have to go looking for replacements until they get below 8 programs. Right now they are above that common threshold and replacements are not a big concern at this point, especially for football, as newbies ODU and GSU will not be missed that much.

Your commish wants 12 full member. It's posted twice in this thread where he wants 12. It would be dumb to sit at 9, then lose more members down the road to whatever conf wants them, then you'll and up as the WAC. They were greedy and wanted only 9 to maximize $$$. Now they're all but dead. CAA won't be dead, but it could end up AEC 2.0 if you wait until a couple more schools leave before taking action.

The same can be said of every school on that list. I was specifically refuting a comment that W&M had chosen academics at the expense of athletics. 25 or so years of CAA history shows that it is possible to be successful in both.
