I never thought Chris would be under the gun for ANYTHING. He has to allow SOME banter, or people will leave because the board is no longer fun. Sure, there are limits, but his boards are NOT AGS, where the admins and mods run roughshod over everyone. I found that article VERY one-sided. One of the eGriz responses brought up good points about the way the site is used to drum up good events and the like. Those events, particularly patronage at athletic events, generate revenue for the school in POSITIVE ways, yet those things were mysteriously absent from the article. It falsely portrays the site as pure fraternity scum, completely counter to a previous article they ran on eGriz back in December.

It seems like a good article. I wouldn't be surprised to see if the NCAA or local police as part of their investigation follow internet activity of suspects - email, sites visited, comments on Facebook, Twitter or in this case e-Griz....

I don't understand her attack on Chris. Football fans are not known for their sensitivity. It's like when you bring your kids to a football and get upset because people are swearing around them. You know the risks, either accept them or wait until their older to take them. EGriz has never promoted a kinder, gentler opinion of football. Where as I wouldn't blame young women for being attacked and the number of cases is rather disturbing...if you don't want to read it, don't go on the site.

I think it was a good article. The griz fan response reminds me of the way most fans for Montana State got when we had our issues about 10 years ago. No one wants there school to get this kind of attention, but when you do, you have to step back and realize that it isn't anyones fault but your schools. Players got away with anything they wanted for YEARS (I know a couple of ex-griz players and they tell me the same thing) Now it is coming to light and the fans are blaming people for looking into it.

What you're saying here is largely correct, and someone definitely should have been looking into these things, but this particular article is terrible. Florio pretends to write it from an unbiased perspective even though she's the unnamed reporter being criticized that's mentioned in the story. To intentionally omit that crucial piece of information is, at best, dubious since she's falsely creating an image of third-person impartiality.

That being said, eGriz needs to tighten its moderating standards. Aside from the stupid, lazy, unconstructive "cunt"-type attacks in response to recent events, the fact that PlayerRep & Growler are still allowed to post there is absurd (especially Growler since he's been banned numerous times under numerous screen names in the past).

He may be knowledgeable (in a spin-heavy sort of way), but he also picks pointless fights constantly. Most threads are derailed over there because he & Growler can't stop sniping at each other.
