70's were great, Alcindor going up against Reed and the Knicks. ABA first Slam Dunk contest. Seattle and Washingotn had a great back to back. Portland with the Walton gang. Phoenix and Golden State had some nice championship years. Great decade with Dr J, Kareem, Tiny, Big Mac, etc.dal4018 wrote:So you purposely missed the ENTIRE DECADE OF THE 70's!!!!!!Gil Dobie wrote:

OMG can't believe you know those legends don't forget Chamberlain,Maravich,Phil Chenier,Spencer Haywood,Elvin Hayes,Wes Unseld saw Tiny play in exhibition game in my home state (NJ) stole the whole show in '71 was seven yrs old loved it great memories!!!!Robertson finally won a NBA title!!!!David Thompson ruined Walton's quest to win NCAA title snatched rebounds away from him as if he was 5-11 instead of 6-11 blocked his shot as well.Have a secret dislike for John Wooden spoke out against dunk shot in his last yrs as coach at UCLA said it ruined the game to it brought simple excitement.David Thompson and his 44 inch vertical leap while at NC State was responsible for today's alley oop!!!!Gil Dobie wrote:70's were great, Alcindor going up against Reed and the Knicks. Lot of Hall of Famers played in the 1970's. Felt bad for Elgin Baylor, retired early the year the Lakers finally won, after losing to the Celtics in the finals 8 times during his career.dal4018 wrote:OMG can't believe you know those legends don't forget Chamberlain,Maravich,Phil Chenier,Spencer Haywood,Elvin Hayes,Wes Unseld saw Tiny play in exhibition game in my home state (NJ) stole the whole show in '71 was seven yrs old loved it great memories!!!!Robertson finally won a NBA title!!!!David Thompson ruined Walton's quest to win NCAA title snatched rebounds away from him as if he was 5-11 instead of 6-11 blocked his shot as well.Have a secret dislike for John Wooden spoke out against dunk shot in his last yrs as coach at UCLA said it ruined the game to it brought simple excitement.David Thompson and his 44 inch vertical leap while at NC State was responsible for today's alley oop!!!!Gil Dobie wrote:

Re: NBA playoff predictions
No doubt about Baylor but his impact is felt today courtesy of all these high flying dunkers in the sport he helped make popular. He was the "original" poster boy who dunked on Bill Russell were it not for him there would not have been a slam dunk contest in the 70's!!!!!Rick Barry who was a pretty good passer as a small forward before some guy named Bird ended up in Boston.Gil Dobie wrote:Lot of Hall of Famers played in the 1970's. Put me completely on the Thunder bandwagon.
I was a big Sonics fan, and followed the Thunder but now I'm full on Thunder loving along with my Clips.

OKC has beaten Dallas, LA, and San Anotonio; 10 of the last 13 NBA champions. Facing either Miami or Boston, it'll be 11/13.

Re: NBA playoff predictions
Kudos to Bron-Bron for putting on a show last night. Was focused in, got the ball in better spots and was just plain making shots - for the 1st 3 quarters anyway. If he was locked in like that more often he wouldn't have half the detractors he has.
