Goldschmidt called up to Dbacks

Read it again AZ. It says they have to have accumulated those numbers before the roster is expanded so, before Sept 1...he won't.

That, as I interpret it, makes him a rookie in 2012.

Part (a) says nothing about prior to rosters expanding. It's an OR equation. He more than likely will have met part (a) before the season ends, thus making him ineligible.

It was awesome -when they loaded the bases by intentionally walking Montero to get to Goldy, I had a feeling a Grand Slam would follow.

I'm still waiting for him to come out of his shell...not be intimidated by the bright lights of the big leagues....that kind of stuff...

And so, Roberts has to show the poor kid up tonight. This will not help him adjust.

Maybe they need to get him on some mood supplements (Sam-E, 5 HTP) to calm the nerves

Audio Interview with Goldy by the TXST radio station. I think the interviewer is a bit of a dork and doesn't know much about the baseball team but he does ok.
Seems it was done before the post season.

He started a little slow this year, but is on fire right now.

They were discussing some stuff before our college season started and some guy wanted to retire uni #'s. I said, who? He started to rattle off some guys that have been in the majors, like UT does. I came back with..... You retire numbers of guys who made it big, that people recognize when you say their name. I added the first person to do this will be Goldschmidt. Kind of shut him up and killed the thread.

We have had guys that had 5+ years but nobody knows them. One pitcher has been in for a long time but he doesn't even claim TXST as his college. He played 3 years elsewhere and his Senior season at TXST (from whence he was drafted) but he never comes back and even gave big $$ to the other college to build a new baseball complex

I do think some of the guys drafted last year or this have the ability to make a name for themselves. One that people will say "Oh, I know that guy. Yeah, he was pretty good." May not be Goldschmidt caliber but one, McVaney, has the opp to make a decent player and make some big noise. (drafted by Detroit) He surpassed Goldy in a several offensive career categories.
