Well the same franchise but hardly the same squad. Dr. J was the only common link between the 2 teams. You went from Henry Bibby & Doug Collins to Maurice Cheeks & Andrew Toney at guard. Swap George McGinnis for Bobby Jones and insert Moses "Fo-Fo-Fo" Malone at Center and yea, hardly the same squad, but the same small forward.

I wonder if Lebron and Wade are going to mock an illness this year, like they did to Dirk last year.

HUGE 3 by Durant to cut the lead to two after a steal, after being down 17 in the first half and 7 just seconds before!!!
Re: NBA Finals
Lebron would get a foul call that Durrant didn't on that last shot.

No foul call and the miss on the ensuing possession will do it, looks like.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:HUGE 3 by Durant to cut the lead to two after a steal, after being down 17 in the first half and 7 just seconds before!!!

He wasn't tonight after that 24 pt performance it was the Wade of old!!!Kudos to Shane Battier and his continued top notch three point shooting another 17 pt performance.Westbrook again tried playing Batman and failed miserably !!!!!tampajag wrote:Kobe earned the keys after he went 0'fer in Utah in 97. I'm OK with Wade. He has earned all the respect that he gets. Unlike James and Bryant who were handed the keys before they did anything.

They key was Durant being in foul trouble the entire game. I could see him playing tentatively at times, trying to avoid contact and possible fouls.

Yes that played an important part as well. He fouled somebody but the refs looked the other way keeping him in the game.He nearly won it for them in the latter stages of the game. Also as stated before Westbrook was jacking up ill advised three point shots again won't be surprised if Skip Bayless talks about this today on "First Take" on ESPN!!!!Gil Dobie wrote:They key was Durant being in foul trouble the entire game. Re: NBA Finals
There were a lot of fouls that could have been called on both sides, but actually being in foul trouble changes a players decision making. I have no problem with Westbrooks play, he's young and still a work in progress.dal4018 wrote:Yes that played an important part as well. Yeah if your rooting for the Heat of course!!!!Westbrook nearly cost OKC a chance to play in the finals in GM.6 vs Spurs with Batman imitation.Gil Dobie wrote:There were a lot of fouls that could have been called on both sides, but actually being in foul trouble changes a players decision making. OKC was cruising, then Durant gets in foul trouble again and the lead vanishes. Durant as got to watch the fouls if OKC is to win.

Re: NBA Finals
They need a first option that isn't on the bench in foul trouble. OKC needs to learn they are playing Lebron and Wade, and not Kobe and the Lakers. You can't reach in on Lebron and expect not to get called for a foul and if you foul, Lebron will complete the play, where most players won't.dal4018 wrote:The Thunder need a viable fourth scoring option a la Shane BattierGil Dobie wrote:OKC was cruising, then Durant gets in foul trouble again and the lead vanishes. Durant needs to get in the weight room to add 20-25 pounds defense will take care of itself. He is Garnett's baby brother.Gil Dobie wrote:Not many, Durant needs to learn not to reach in and get the foul.dal4018 wrote:Agreed but who is strong enough and athletic to do so the answer no one !!!!!

No, No, No, he is much better than Garnett at the same point in his career. Garnett did not have the speed, shooting, coordination and game finishing ability as Durant.dal4018 wrote:Durant needs to get in the weight room to add 20-25 pounds defense will take care of itself. He is Garnett's baby brother.Gil Dobie wrote:

How easily you forget about Garnett in his youth and how he flew up and down the court playing for the T'wolves!!!!!I personally felt that KG was CWebb minus an extra 20-30 pounds had everything Webber had but size and bulk to play power forward spot!!!!Gil Dobie wrote:No, No, No, he is much better than Garnett at the same point in his career.
