well to be honest I went to a women's bball double header once and I'm sure 90% of the crowd was lesbian. What was I doing there you might wonder? Community service.SuperHornet wrote:You've really been drinking the Kool-Aid, haven't you, FSA?
I never claimed to be female, mainly because I'm not. That's something idiots on this board have insinuated because they can't fathom the idea that a guy can enjoy women's athletics. They incorrectly assume that either women's athletics doesn't exist or consists entirely of lesbians.
I never claimed to like Romo. There's a function on these boards that anyone can put anything bogus on any other poster's avatar for just a little bit of palm-greasing. The only way to have such blather removed is a little more bribery, which I can't afford at the moment. If I had that cash to do it, Romo would be out of town so fast everyone's head would spin, and he'd be replaced by the immortal Danny White.
And that chick kicker isn't "following in my footsteps." I was a quarterback at UOP.

So is SH Nick Sellers? Graham Leigh went on to UNM and John Fassel was a coach on the Raiders. Those were the 3 QBs listed for UOPs last season. If not maybe they just told SH he was on the team.

Re: Brittney Griner
No, FSA.
We had SIX quarterbacks in '95, though not all six may have been on the actual roster. The first starter was actually Chad Fotheringham, a fifth-year senior transfer from Snow College in UT. Nick was our second guy, a fifth-year senior transfer from ISU. Graham was our final starter; he was a freshman, and yes, he went on to take UNM to the Insight.com Bowl and was a backup for the Birmingham Thunderbolts in the XFL. John was #4, and took over as our punter when the combo kicker went down. John was HC at D-II New Mexico Highlands at the age of 29, and went on to the Ravens staff before joining the Raiders. He is now the special teams coordinator for the Rams. Our fifth guy was Gio Carmazzi out of Jesuit High in Carmichael, CA (near Sac), who went on to Hofstra and was the only one of us who got drafted (49ers). Gio was sent to NFLE, hurt his shoulder, and got caught up in an internal powerplay between Bill Walsh and Terry Donahue (who was banking on Jim Druckenmiller); the 'Niners cut Gio at that point. I was sixth string and probably had no real chance of seeing the field except for possibly Senior Day.
Our position coach was Mike Canales, currently the offensive coordinator with North Texas. If you're REALLY interested, you can check it with him.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
Re: Brittney Griner
6th string?
Are you sure you weren't a manager that they gave a jersey too?
If you weren't on the roster you weren't on the team.....No team carries 6 QB's........

6th string? Really? Isn't that like an honorary position? Did you ever play...during practice?SuperHornet wrote:No, FSA.

I think Fresno only carries 3, so I'm 4th string. No I'm not going to check w/ UNT in hopes that the coach actually remembers your name. Casey will do, as long as your last name isn't Anthony

Re: Brittney Griner
UNI has 4 and that is as many ad I remember being on the roster...and one could easily move to lb or rb

TJ: Actually, I did. Or, at least I started the process. I even packed up my stuff and went out there in January of '96. Just one problem: Jim Leavitt. Coach Canales wasn't in the office that day, and Coach Leavitt convinced me that Coach Canales had left for Baylor. Given that, the state of construction on campus (it was REALLY unsafe in Jan '96), and how awful the dorm room was (outlet plates missing, shower knobs coming off, nasty plates left out from before Christmas Vacation, etc.), I bailed. I found out later that Coach Leavitt had lied to me about Coach Canales' whereabouts.
The only good part of that visit was walking across the street to TGIF. The food there was REALLY good.
