Back from vacation and the first thing I read is trading Lee again. Lee isn't going anywhere since the Phils will be going for it again next year. Having a rotation of Doc/Lee at the top is crucial for that to happen. What's going to happen at the deadline this year is more about retooling than rebuilding.

Pieces that will likely go:

Pierre (great signing on a 1 year deal and will get at least a prospect for him)

Victorino (probably wouldn't re-sign him anyway after the season)

Hamels (try to get an MLB ready 3B, a serviceable CF, and some RPs) then try to re-sign him after the season, and if not, go after someone like grienke

Wiggy (get some high upside prospects but nothing more)

Bullpen minus Paps, Bastard (get a years worth of vending machine food)

Polanco (will try to trade but who knows who will take an aging 3B)

Blanton (high upside prospects maybe similar to wiggy)

None of those guys are bringing back anything besides tomato cans outside of Hammels. And if Hammels is gone, the Phillies will lose 100 games next year.

I know, I said "Wait till October", but I'm not going to, on behalf of Phillies fans everywhere, I concede the season.

This team is disappointing - if you want me to use stronger adjectives - disinterested, gutless and fat would be at the top of the list.

Agree with Seahawks on Pierre, Victorino, Polanco & Blanton - especially Shane & Bobblehead - you won't get tons but it'll be addition by subtraction. WTF was up with Shane not playing yesterday? Especially after being pictured out in AC until 3:30am Saturday morning....

I also dump Rollins & Lee in the offseason - doesn't make sense to trade them at the deadline - you'll get more in return starting in November.

I also send Charlie to pasture & make Sandberg the manager after the season. If they want to keep Charlie with the organization with some meaningless title then fine, but he's done as the skipper.

Last I checked, Amaro got a high upside catcher and another prospect for a pinch hitter. Teams will give up more than you expect.
