How old was Chistine Laettner in 1992?
It will be difficult to judge this team against the 1992 team until most of these guys have a longer career. Most of the 1992 is in the Hall of Fame, how many of the 2012 team will be in the future, how many championships etc. Russell Westbrook is probably the best athlete, he could be an all-time great by the time he's done.

Magic was an OLD 32, and was already out of the NBA at that point. Slow, and heavy. Bird was done as well.ASUG8 wrote:Barkley and Jordan were 29, Magic was 32 and Robinson was 26. Hardly old.DJH wrote:He might be right. The Dream Team was old, and several of them were way past their primes.
Who's going to guard guys like Durant and Westbrook? Cripes, that's not even counting guys like Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose who are injured.

I think the whole '92 team is in the HOF except for Leattner, and he was one of the best college players ever.Gil Dobie wrote:How old was Chistine Laettner in 1992?

We will obviously have to wait and see but most of this year's team is well on their way to being HOF'ers as well.

Looks like its going to be Anthony Davis in place of Blake Griffin who injured his knee on Wednesday. Good tradeoff, IMO, with the lack of size we have.

There is not a chance in hell that Love is a better defender than Griffin. I mean they both suck, which is why their teams have to make switches when they play teams that have good scoring PFs. Love gets roasted when actually has to guard a halfways decent offensive player.DJH wrote:Kevin Love >> Blake Griffin. Not even close. Better shooter, better rebounder, better scorer, better FT shooter, better defender.
Blake is a better dunker, that's it.
I predict Kevin Love wins zero DPOY and won't make a single all-defensive 1st team ever.

Re: USA Olympic Basketball Team
How annoying is it that all these good international teams keep talking shit saying stuff like "they aren't going to show their best stuff" when playing the US in these exhibition games? Yeah, right. Like they all wouldn't just give their left nut to beat Team USA, give me a break. Man up, take your loss, and quit making excuses like the little European bitches that you are.
