BUCDAD - Bureau of Labor Statistics says you are wrong.

We are at 92% EMPLOYMENT (92% of those that want a job have one).

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm

February Labor Force - 154,214,000
February Employed - 141,467,000 92%
February Unemployed - 12,457,000 8%

NOT IN WORK FORCE - 80,699,000 (Retired, stay-at-home parents, unemployable, etc).

Our 95% full employment is used as a way of showing the mean unemployment rate for this country (average unemployment is 5 percent), and also for calculating our potential GPD (we are now 3 percent under full employment, not good for economic growth). Like Gil, i believe, said, there are different categories of the employed, as you have shown above Jon. In essence, like GDP, CPI, and most of the economic numbers we are shown, they mean absolutely shit unless it is proving the point you want. There are different ways to calculate each of the economic indicators, and the media, statisticians, and economists use the ones that are most effective in getting their point across (see global warming). Anyyyywayy, fuck all the numbers and the media posting them, we are in a recession, we will eventually be out of a recession, and guess what, were gonna be in another one. :?

these numbers have nothing to do with my statement. That is how the government buffaloes us, they leave out the 4-5% who have just stopped looking but are perfectly capable of working. That is how they come up with 100% between employed and what they call unemployed. Still only makes up 95% of the workforce available. IF we counted the true unemployment rate it would be at 13% not 8%

Fuck redistribution. If I can find 4 as a 21 year old full time college student the lazy bastard drinking beer all day living on welfare and EBT can find one too.

Plus I don't know many people dumb enough to work for the UNI ticket office, coach middle school baseball, umpire high school baseball, and find time to work for a recruiting website and do video editing.

However, I make serious bank during the summer.

It's much easier being employed and paying bills from a paycheck, then it is looking for a job, learning new skils, concern about next weeks bills, selling personal property to get by, watching unemployement climb, more companies laying off people.

What do you call someone that wants to work but not looking? Lazy? If I was unemployed, I would never give up looking. There are jobs out there. May not be what you want, but there are jobs.

I think 92% is still 92% employed but only say 3% that want employment truly can not find it. Right?

Now, as we can see from this chart our "Full Employment" is met, because only 4% are unemployed. 5% is strictly the mean unemployment for this country to my best knowledge, and therefor we have a "revert to the mean" type of calculation. Full employment, as I said, is for calculating Potential GDP. There is your available but not currently working section, which is not factored into unemployment numbers. I like the labor force participation percent myself. Labor force/ working population x 100

I think technically that would be the most accurate. The other "formula" including not in the labor force would really just be a way to better prove a point if you want to make things look worse.
