Appalachian could go 6-5 ... or 10-1 -- so I'll split the difference at 8-3.

It's up to the *D* and special teams, and replacing Cadet's 225 touches from last year. Defense could be nasty in 2012, even without 2 'too studly' guys who couldn't keep it in their pants, and dropping Rizor from the team.

Not sure running-back-by-committee will work, though there is a lot of quality in the quantity. Either Miller or Chisholm (both seniors) could have a break-out year, or Tysean Holloway (true frosh enrolled in January) may steal everyone's thunder if he learns the ropes. Even with the spread, Appalachian is happy running 40+ times a game.

Then, there exists the potential for a *Win-It-All-For-Jerry* motivational factor that could make 2012 a memorable season ... for the right reasons.

It seems so wrong to predict the Bison will start 2-2, but I don't trust them in altitude (I still remember them losing to Wyoming) or in the UNIDome. :hide:

I wouldn't be so sure about that

The Appalachian Rouge's Gallery of Dismissals & Suspensions seems quite fluid and expanding, and regretfully, Chancellor Cheerleader and his AD were too busy pumping FBS last Spring -- instead of tossing a few hooligans on the trash heap in a timely manner.

You are wrong MarkCCU. They were going to win by 11 points, now App St. will win by 21. It happens.

After last years disaster I would be happy with a 5-6 outcome. And that is being overly optimistic I think.

6-5

SIU has a hard road to the playoffs and what has to be among the toughest of FCS schedules this season, five preseason Top 25 teams and an FBS including @Miami OH, @NDSU,@YSU, @IlSU.

Ouch.

Now, if we back into the playoffs through that schedule, a deep run wouldn't be surprising.

Because of a lot of youth and inexperience as well as the new (improved) coaching staff I predict a 9-2 or 8-3 season, but do expect this team to jell later in the year and potentially be a factor in the playoffs unlike the disasters of the last 2 seasons. :coffee:

EWU 2012

@IDAHO WIN (Def gonna be tough but eags have the potential to pull it out. This isnt the old sucky Idaho.)
@WASH STATE LOSS (Based on the EWU UW game last year I think EWU MIGHT HAVE what it takes to get the W)
@WEBER ST. WIN (Former EWU coach & 3rd straight on the road make this one too close for comfort)
MONTANA WIN (First game on REDTURF, stadium upgrade, & recent UM meltdown give EWU the advantage)
NORTH DAKOTA WIN (Solid play & REDTURF are too much for und)
@MONTANA ST. WIN (HEADLINE: EWU squeaks out a 1-point win, via last second fg in front of 17,000 in Bozeman)
SACRAMENTO ST. WIN
@SOUTHERN UTAH WIN (Doppelgänger cant get it done against the real deal EWU)
CAL POLY WIN ( EWU wins by 3 MOSTLY bc their the home team)
UC DAVIS WIN (UC DAVIS is not ready to compete w/ NC quality competition)
@PORTLAND ST. WIN ( EWU barely pulls off the win in a hostile environment )

10-1

Bearkats 10-1 we beat TAMU but lose to Baylor. The TAMU game is the last of the season, winning that game will secure the #1 seed for the second year in a row.
