Why "such organizations?" What you find "disgusting" others may not (and vice versa).

I'm looking for a list of organizations receiving donations from all privately held companies. That way, we all can boycott every company to our hearts' desires.

I am not setting out to support those organizations and if my money unknowingly gets funneled to some organization I don't support (i.e., United Way), so be it.

The point is, that you can't possibly know where every company moves money. To use a fast food restaurant as a way to criticize social positions seems ridiculous to me. Like I said, if you don't want to patronize Chick-fil-a, good on you. I just think it's petty to disparage someone for going to a fast food chain (especially when there's so many better reasons to disparage JSO). I'll state again that I think it's sad that fast food has become the "ground zero" of social debate in our country.
Ignorance is our friend. I didn't know who Chick-fil-a gave their money to, but when I heard it was these groups, I'm not going to send my money to them. We may not know where every company moves money, but the point is that we know where Chick-fil-a does, so I'm not going to support them anymore. I'm disparaging people going there to spite people like me, but because their ignorant of what people like me are actually saying.

voting with your money is a quite libertarian course of action anyway :coffee:
For the third time, if you don't want to go to Chick-fil-a, good on you.

Not sure what you're saying in the bold part, but good luck in your crusade against Chick-fil-a. I'm not defending them, and they're obviously not too worried about money or they'd be open on Sundays. I just think it's a sad state in this country that people are using where someone eats fast food as a basis for social positions.

I don't care about what a corporation's official stance is on anything. They have freedom of speech and I support that right. The issue here is not that they have said position, it's that they actively spend money in contribution to groups that go beyond just denouncing something gay marriage and actively lobby for severe punishment for those who are homosexual. They have the right to do that spending, but the spending for that end, I would think most people would see that as immoral. I'm just making it clear that if you spend money there, you're practically supporting that too. I mean, it's one thing if you had no idea they were doing such things, but now that we do know these things, I think one's moral standing has to be slightly in question.

I personally am boycotting because I don't want my money going to such things. I'm shaming people who actively know about this stuff and still take pride in going there. I'm particularly shaming JSO because he has the full-retard S&M ahistorical obsession about liberty, and supporting such groups would kind of put anyone at odds with any reasonable definition of liberty.

Two things here. What "severe punishment" are you talking about (did I miss something earlier?), and you're trying to shame people because they don't share your views?

I'm shaming JSO for prancing around like a rational human being when the evidence is counter to that. I'm shaming people for knowing that Chick-fil-a financially contributes to Exodus international, focus on the family, and the Family research council. These groups have been labeled hate groups and have supported or lobbied for support of the death penalty, exportation, and imprisonment of gay people.

If you don't know this, I won't shame you. If you know this and still eat at chick-fil-a, I won't condemn you from the outright, but if you take pride in supporting chick-fil-a, knowing these things, (something JSO does) I'm going to point out you're a terrible human being.

I'll give you a hint. It doesn't. You're Disgusting.
If you support Obama, you support a person with a God (a Christian one, mind you...or a Muslin one) syndrome who kills civilians, ignores the Constitution and Congress, and takes away our personal liberties. That's disgusting.

If you support homosexuality, you support the idea that starving women and bulimia should be at the forefront of our fashion industry...all the while supporting child labor in third world countries. And let's not forget about the money wasted on bad art. You go girl.

Hey, it was reported today that, SURPRISE  , Obama signed a secret  order to support the rebels in Syria. Those nice rebels...who just executed 14 people....and hanged a civilian.

Well, so far its come up on the ballot in 32 states, and in all 32 it has passed on keeping marriage between a man and a woman. It doesn't matter what the majority of Americans thinks, it matters what the majority of voters think.

Not really. What matters is what the Supreme Court will eventually decree. Remember, the Constitution is partially built to protect the minority from the majority, which is why the majority vote doesn't matter all the time.

First I've ever heard of this. Not sure how to even check on this. A quick google doesn't turn up anything on death penalty, exportation or imprisonment of gays... unless you're talking about Uganda. Are you sure this isn't just a Huffington Post copy?

Shunning anything because you disagree with their views is a terrible way to live a life. You'll miss out on a lot of awesome people and other great things, and it'll limit your ability to have civilized debates and discussions.

Does it really matter what country it is?

I would much prefer to export homosexuals from the United States than to import them into the United States because we believe homosexuality is destructive to society,” -Peter Sprigg, Family Research Council’s vice president of policy.

I never said I was against that. I'm not financially supporting oppressive viewpoints. there's a difference.
