Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I'll pick up watching Season 4 of Breaking Bad then.89Hen wrote:Fucking Metro.93henfan wrote:

On the way home we connect back to the Red and miss a train by seconds and then the next car (15 minutes) gets cancelled and we have to wait 32 minutes to get the next one. This is why I hate going to Nats games. For Caps games I can leave my house 45 minutes before the drop of the puck, get a beer and see the drop from my seat. Nats games are a whole other story.
How good are the scalping opportunities down around Nats Park if I do still go?

I would think so. I StubHub'd and got Row A in the 300 level inside of 3rd base for $13 ($30 face) last night.93henfan wrote:Lowers levels under $50?

"Shitty"? Nats are 14th in attendance. I don't think "shitty" is the word. Average would probably be better.

Phillies suck and will be in the East basement with the Marlins for the next decade. Zero young talent in that organization.

Nope. Finished up Season 4 of Breaking Bad; the best show on television. I did turn on MASN for five seconds and saw Hamels was down 3-0 early. Glad I didn't waste a night in that sharthole.89Hen wrote:93henfan wrote:

Depends on how much salary they dump. If they start next season with Hamels, Halladay and Lee they might contend. The window is closing and they are trying to unload Lee so I'm not optimistic, but I'm not pulling the plug just yet either.eagleskins wrote:Phillies suck and will be in the East basement with the Marlins for the next decade. If they dump Lee they probably use that money and get a premier position player. They can easily contend and win next year with or without Lee. And really at this point it's finding a bridge to 2015 when they get out of their current TV contract and either start their own network or hit paydirt with an existing broadcaster. If you have money and aren't afraid to spend it you'll never be irrelevant for very long. The Red Sox are proving you can have bad years, but they're also proving many of them don't happen consecutively. The Phils aren't going back to a decade or two of mediocrity, but they may stumble for a year or two. I just don't think the stumble continues next year.

You may be right, and I hope that you are. I am concerned that Utley, Rollins and possibly Howard may be in their decline. Howard should get better, I think his problems are injury related, but Utley is a real concern.GannonFan wrote:If they dump Lee they probably use that money and get a premier position player. Phillies are done, the window is closed. Too many old players, too much money wrapped into old talent. Gonna be a Nationals/Braves divisional race for the foreseeable future.

Too many old players? The Yankees are older than the Phillies and are going to win the AL East and possibly get the 1 seed in the AL. The old player argument is way overblown.Phillies are done, the window is closed. Too many old players, too much money wrapped into old talent. Gonna be a Nationals/Braves divisional race for the foreseeable future.
Too much money wrapped up in old talent? Halladay and Utley are off the books after next year, so that frees up plenty of money. And even going into this offseason, the phils have enough money to spend on a top FA like Bourn for CF. The window does not close when you have 3 aces on the team and I fully expect them to bounce back next year.

That settles it, the Phils will be 2013 NL East champs.DJH wrote:Phillies are done, the window is closed. Too many old players, too much money wrapped into old talent. Gonna be a Nationals/Braves divisional race for the foreseeable future.
Any other predictions? NFL? What can I expect with the Eagles and Mike Vick? Please tell me that the Giants, Redskins and Cowboys will dominate.
