I see 9-2...8-3 is possible...
I feel UNI can beat Iowa, but lose to NDSU...and heaven forbid YSU.
I don't see a loss after the bye week.
You'll lose in Carbondale after the bye week. Like you always do.
SIU sucks dick.
Once a worthy opponent that could go toe to toe with UNI every year, while vying for conference titles, It was fun to smack talk with SIU fans. Now, you are not worthy. Until your boys can climb out of that big embarrassing, pathetic hole that they fell in, STFU.
I'm also not so sure why so many people want to think UNI isn't going to be any good.
Its not that they wont be good (because they will be), its just that they may not be good enough, especially accentuated by that incredibly brutal schedule.
Unless UNI beats Wisc or Iowa, they have to go 7-1 the rest of the way to make the playoffs. And that would be against what is, arguably, the single toughest conference in the country this year.

Outside of NDSU, I don't see a conference loss....yeah maybe I'm optimistic.
NDSU is going to be really good again, YSU should be really good (and they are going to blow their wads trying to beat UNI this year), Ill St will be pretty good. And thats not even factoring in a possible "shit the bed road game" against an inferior team like SIU or Western. Hard not to lose more than 1 game with that schedule.
7-1 is a tall, tall task. The margin is just so razor thin.

Yep....but it isn't like UNI doesn't have 7 or 8 starters back on offense - or ever actually has a "bad" defense no matter who has to be replaced.
Yes, I'm optimistic....if you actually look at who we bring back it' hard not to be.

You get your ass kicked every time you come to C'dale. It's become a tradition for both schools and serves to remind the UNI pampers that it's time, yet again, to choke.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

UNI will be good. The defense might take awhile to "find itself" but they will be in the hunt for the MV title.
These teams will be the top tier, IMO:
UNI
Youngstown
Ill State
NDSU
These 4 will most likely be the playoff teams representing the conference. Indiana State is all "fluff" IMO. Teams will watch NDSU's defending of Bell and he will not carry this team into the playoffs.
IMO, the Bison win out at home and could lose to Colorado State and UNI on the road. Although with our defense returning most of their players, it wouldn't surprise me if they go 11-0.
I also count the USD game in Sioux Falls as a home game....we will have more fans there than the pups......

My heart says 11-0, my brain says 10-1.
Talking with Coach Ash I get the feeling the Bobcats are going to be darn good but they won't be immune to losing a couple games.
If I were to guess I would say EWU, Montana, Stephen F Austin and UND pose the biggest threats.
I agree that EWU, UM, SFA are the toughest games on MSU's schedule, but not drinking the UND punch i think they will struggle against the expanded Big Sky. That said I see the toughest games all very winnable games, the last game of the year will be the hardest.

Looking forward to it already, especially after this nightmare of an off season.

My eyes will be glued to the TV when they play South Dakota, that should be a great game and a good judge of how the season will start. but however the season starts, the griz always get rolling at the end

I'm conflicted. I usually want the Big Sky to stomp all over other conferences, especially the MVFC, but I also kind of want the Griz to suffer the embarrassment of losing to USD too.

If we have to lose to any team OOC, I'd be okay with USD. Glenn is good people, outside of that bird flipping incident while he was at Why?oming.

NO WAY the Grizz lose to USD. They lost a ton of seniors off of a very mediocre team. Grizz win by 3 TDs.

In any event, I'd rather lose to them than Fallwell U, or App, for that matter.
If Liberty wins in Wa-Griz (which I think even those of us who are megahomers on Liberty's message board see that as a VERY long shot even with all the upheaval of late), itll probably be the biggest win at the FCS level since the win over YSU in 2008
I'm thinking best case is ODU is going to be 9-2, worst case is 8-3. CAA is going to be a lot more improved this year with the exception of Georgia State....they might very well go winless in the CAA.
I'm hoping for a record that is good enough to get ODU a decent seeding in the playoffs and revenge against Towson and Delaware...ESPECIALLY Towson.
To expand on my previous post, this is how I see this season going down.
