Good stuff.. Our running game will carry us through the first part of the season. O-line will be ready to back that up. Montana will be fine. Its going to be nice to get tested early in the season. I guess we'll see what were made of after week 5..........

Not to the outcome of the game, but it was still funny nonetheless. :thumb:

Growler1 is the dumbest piece of **** over there.

Breezecheck doesn't look overly impressive to me. Similar to JJ, he's a play maker with his feet, but lacks a strong arm... I saw a lot of passes that were floated up there, even mid range ones. I haven't seen the other Griz QBs play, but if I were a Griz fan, I wouldn't have a lot of confidence if he beat them out after only 4 weeks with the team/offense.
You didn't think Johnson looked like much last year either.

The Griz are in a world of hurt. They still have enough players to be decent this year, but fans like Growler1 and others who think they'll challenge for the conference are nuts. Especially after they lose Johnson.
What a judge. From your vantage point, you can't even imagine what contention smells like.

Arm strength is overrated; accuracy is much more important. If arm strength was as important as everyone thinks (as NFL scouts apparently do, unfortunately), then Jeff George would be the greatest QB of all time and Ryan Leaf would be a future hall-of-famer.

I don't know much about Brzeczek's abilities specifically, but pretty much any QB is a good get for the Griz since they were down to just 3 on the roster (unless you're still counting Kemp). Now they can at least redshirt Gustafson.
Perhaps I didn't word it the best then. It appears to me that he has a weak arm. I agree to an extent that arm strength is a little overrated, but only to a point. I doubt I'd be able to find it, but I was listening to Brock Huard on 710 ESPN discuss arm strength with somebody, in regards to Matt Flynn a while back. He was saying how arm strength doesn't matter once it's past a certain point. Floating the ball on those intermediate routes will get him picked off. Saw a couple of plays in the video I watched of him where the ball was under thrown as well... had the DB been competent enough to play the ball instead of the receiver, it also would've been picked. Overall though, I agree that accuracy is much more important.

Good luck to the kid though, he's got a tough road ahead of him.
Of course those videos are of a 17 year old from 2010. The kid has four years eligibility remaining, just like Trent McKinney. The two form pretty good bets for the future. One of them could easily emerge this year. Both can and will run and will be more durable than Johnson was.

He didn't against EWU, minus one big run (on which there was an illegal block/hold). The Griz defense and our inability to stop the run won that game for you guys.

You keep wishing, hoping and predicting that every year. You have no clue that the key to consistent winning is depth in all 22 positions and special teams. It has been the key to Montana's success in the past and will pay dividends this year and in the future. UNC, never so much....

EWU will have the same challenge to beat Montana this year. You acknowledge that who the Montana QB is means less than their consistent ability to push people around on the line of scrimmage. The OL will be even stronger this year. The defense will be less experienced, but there will be outstanding and deep linebacker play with Tripp back after missing last year.

Didn't he play like 3-4 games as a true freshman?
Yes, blowout games like UNC. He was activated from RS status to backup up Roper when Selle went down early in the season.

No, I mean the reality of the impending downturn for the Griz this year.
I give you credit for understanding that process. Going from the NC to 6-5 and all. Don't count on the Griz being that inconsistent.

Hey kemajic since you have not answered me on egriz I'll ask here. The last time you guaranteed the Griz would beat the Mustangs I took you up on that and won a case of beer. I am willing to go double or nothing on that case on who (Cal Poly or Montana) finishes the season ranked higher in the GPI. What do you say?

The Griz went from to the NC in 2009 to 7-4 and out of the playoffs in 2010. Just saying...

Montana never finishes very high in the GPI. Why? Because we don't get to play Montana and boost our GPI. :coffee: :coffee:

Like I have said many of times I respect the hell out of the Griz and going to a game in Missoula is one of the best road trips in all of college football (FBS included). I am just having fun with kemajic. :thumb:

It's so funny how similar to an NDSU homer you dislike you can sound when trying to cherry pick an excuse for why your team lost.

There is a group of EWU fans that are quite the excuse makers. You have some illegal block, or Mariani stepped out of bounds for every loss you've ever witnessed to the Griz. It's a lot of excuses.

This is definitely a positive for UM. While he may not be known and I'm almost sure none of us have ever seen him play, he was good enough to walk on to Stanford... and we all know where the starting QB for Stanford last year is now.
so i see 2 positives already for him, he's gotta have some talent and he's gotta be pretty smart. It may take him a while to get going but i'm sure he'll be fine.

My point was, if JJ had played a good game, Griz would've won by a lot more than 3. If BLM had played a good game, we would've won. I didn't say that the play affected the outcome of the game; the Griz won fair and square. Just saying that JJ wasn't impressive in the 3 point win. :thumb:
