Reports that the kids (and their families) from Newark were getting calls at all hours of the day and night from "Vito" and "Tony" asking them if they really wanted to play the game versus New Jersey.

Starting pitcher for the Delaware team found his family pet run over the day before the game. Witness said the 70s-era Cadillac that hit the animal had Jersey plates.

Strange things happen sometimes. :coffee:

However, the phone calls were friendly offerings of cannolis and Italian cookies. Even the ones at 2 a.m. :nod:
Also, the pet should have been on a leash. :kisswink:
