Right here, just as I have said all along....BSC regarding Olympic sports; not FB. They dangle the FB possibility to get the Olympic sports accepted (which will save them a lot of money) and Fullerton is dope enough to buy it. They will continue to work their butt off to find any alternative to FCS/BSC and if they fail, they would be very unwilling partners, held hostage. You can call Idaho snobs, but small college football is not for everyone. They have been major college for all but 18 years and that period is not what they identify with.

Uh, Idaho is in FBS, so I guess it compares favorably.

Welcome back to the Big Sky Vandals. Cant wait to play a conference game in the crappy Kibbie Dome in 2015
I can't wait until their fanbase is completely demoralized after losing to "inferior" competition in 13 days.
Beating them on the red turf in 2015 will be fun too.
I can't wait until the EWU fanbase is completely demoralized by starting out 0-4 --- again. Hopefully there will be a new set of excuses this year.

I'll take that bet.

Worst case 1-3, best case 3-1, and most likely 2-2. Very little chance we can beat WSU, but the others are very winnable games for this team.

Very predictable post from you. I am fairly certain you have mentioned in the past that idaho would never return to the Big Sky conference for any of their sports.

Idaho is a BSC program, just like Montana and EWU. Moving back down is the best option. Most people realize this. I know that's painful. :kisswink:

It is not unusual for you to be wrong, and you are wrong once again. Find such a post, if you can.

Moving the Olympic sports to the BSC is a lateral move; they could care less. Moving football down to small college is another story.

I'm not wrong, and I'm still waiting to hear what you're willing to wager on EWU going 0-4 during their first four games.

Still waiting...

You are wrong; prove otherwise. No bet on 0-4; possible, but not good odds. But I would bet you on the Idaho game that you are so full of yourself about.

EWU has better odds against Idaho than UM does at App State. But I know you're blind arrogance won't allow you to admit that.

No thanks on that bet. You are the one who claimed EWU would start the season 0-4. I have never claimed EWU would beat Idaho so I am not really sure where that last comment is even coming from. And if having the opinion that a team that won 2 games last season (one of them over a transitional N. Dakota squad) is beatable means that I am full of myself - then guilty as charged, I guess. But again, I have never made any claims other than we have a shot to win it - which we absolutely do.

You are the one that has made all the claims in regards to this matchup.

You mean the App State that lost both coordinators, more seniors than U of M, all their skill position players and have a QB that's thrown less than 20 passes in college? THAT ASU?

Ummmmm you do know that App State plays their 3rd and 4th stringer pretty much the entire second half of every game to build depth? Yep, they don't rebuild at App State, they reload. And there stadium is loud...and cold.

Really, they are just prolonging the inevitable. They need to drop to the Big Sky for all sports. The indepedents in FBS will eat them on a stick. You have the service academies who run 50s offenses that shred teams, BYU who has proven they are a respectable team and notre dame whom I hate but they won't lose to idaho. They'll just lose to USF, Syracuse, UConn, Tulsa and more inferior teams.

Take it from an outsiders perspective. The teams that need to bring their ass up to FBS are Montana, App State and Georgia Southern. When you dominate the competition for years in a division, you need to move up. App State could play in the Sun Belt (hell, maybe in the C-USA or Big lEast). GSU could play in the Sun Belt and Montana could play in the MWC.

Teams who dominate their division need to step up to the next level. End of discussion. The fans of those schools should be happy to be moving up because it's a monumental thing. A local team, Central Michigan was in Division II way back when and they were knocking off Big Ten teams not too long ago. Grand Valley State, who ran roughshod over D-2 for most of the 2000s needs a move up to FCS and maybe the MVC. They don't belong in Division II. They dominate that Division in every sport. Basketball, Softball, Football, Swimming. You name it.

Yeah, I don't respond to juvenile name-calling. It's a weak fallback when you're short of facts or get confused with the use of the English language.

Kind of like telling Ranger - one of the more even keeled, honest, and typically correct posters on this board -"it's not unusual for you to be wrong".

That's like calling Jalmond a troll.

Well, what is there to gain from moving up to a mid major fbs conf for a team like Montana? They already sell out their games, they already win conf championships, and watching your team play in the playoffs is more exciting than a weak bowl game. Most importantly, no real shot at a NC. Again, what do they stand to gain?

Ask Central Michigan. Went from Division II to an FBS team who consistently made bowl games, upset teams, won conference championships. Got national TV time and gained some pretty good talent. Those schools will benefit from bowl revenue, TV revenue, MWC has It's own TV network so they would gain revenue from that. They would be on national TV or even regional TV on the big networks like FSN, CBS and ESPN.
