The first two days of the tournament really should be federal holidays. All those billions in lost productivity, why bother with it? Now naturally we can't have holidays officially dedicated to sitting on the couch, drinking beer, and watching 16 basketball game in twelve hours, so we need to come up with reasonable justifications for these holidays. You know, some occupation or public servant all Americans depend on that haven't gotten their own holiday yet, like honoring firefighters and bookies or some shit.
