Bryce Harper had a huge lead, but he is now lagging by a wide margin statistically. Can his media mojo keep him in front of Todd Frazier (Reds)?

Neither should win it - the winner SHOULD be Arizona Rookie Wade Miley.
Miley is 5th in League in Wins and ERA. Far more deserving than either of your two candidates

I've never quite understood the "rookie" designation for players. Miley started 7 games last year. As a pitcher, that's a LOT to be considered a "rookie" the following year.

Cut off is 50 innings pitched in prior year. Miley pitched 40.
Plus, he went to a FCS school (SE Louisiana)

But as a hitter, you an have 129 at bats and still be considered a "rookie". So essentially the cuttoff is 1/5 of the "season" 1/5 of 35 is 7 starts, 1/5 of 650 AB's is 130 AB's....89Hen wrote:I've never quite understood the "rookie" designation for players. No, 1/5 of 35 starts is 6.93 starts.AZGrizFan wrote:But as a hitter, you an have 129 at bats and still be considered a "rookie". Not sure why. Frazier is no where near the league lead in ANY category. Miley is in the two biggest pitching categories.
Miley SHOULD win in a landslide. If he doesn't, the award has no meaning.

The Reds wouldn't be leading their division without the help of Frazier. Everyone thought the Reds O was done after votto got injured. But we still have a month left. Let's see how everyone finishes first.

He spelled Rolen before Votto got hurt. It was Rolen's injury that got him playing time since he didn't make the club coming out of spring training.Seahawks08 wrote:The Reds wouldn't be leading their division without the help of Frazier. Jon, I believe your argument is valid. Let's discuss this topic in the last week of September.
