Finally back in AZ...and yes still relishing the victory. For the record I too have a kid on the team...no bandwagoner here. Just a little insight perhaps into the character and talent of this team. It is special.

Also for the record Missoula was a great trip. I highly recommend taking a game in there. The people were great and the venue was a phenominal place to watch a college football game. What an experience. The griz fans do know how to tailgate and they are so passionate about their team. That is to be respected. :thumb:

As far as the game, I will say it again NAU wore the Griz down. You can make all the excuses you want. NAU has depth across the board. They can rotate players with little or no drop off. When the Montanna D was huffing and puffing with their heads hung low and there hands on their hips, converesely the NAU defense was fresh.

Like I said it is going to be one helluva inresting season in the Big Sky.

I don't think I've said it yet (was pretty busy this weekend), but congrats, Jacks. You guys whipped us after getting down and hung in there.

Hopefully this wakes up our team. We're gone need it next week.

Good weekend for you, then. Jacks beat Montana, Ducks beat UofA and get #2 in the AP.

Yea except Oregon State won so the weekend was a push

Montana D was huffing and puffing because they were on the field for 25 of the 30 minutes in the 2nd half. It's not rocket science.

What's hilarious is people can pull those pics up at a moment's notice because it's so fricking rare that it happens. 8-)

No, I had to dig through about 10 pages on flickr first. Took a few minutes. :thumb:

Two odd things I almost forgot to mention…

Why did the Griz try a surprise onside after going up 17-7? It ultimately didn't matter because NAU didn't do anything with it, but that decision—with all the momentum & the D playing well—made no sense at all.

Since when does the team sing the fight song after a loss? I've been to nearly every Griz home game since 1993 and I don't believe I've ever seen that before.

I believe fans should wait a minimum of 24 hours after a loss to post. The emotion leads to some interesting posts that would probably be a little less colorful if a cooling down period were imposed. And I am speaking to myself also because that is exactly what I do. No Griz fan likes to lose and we don't often see a loss at home. Emotions run high for a while.

First, congrats to NAU. You have a solid team and they earned the butt whoop'n they handed out! :thumb:

Second, the season is a long ways from being over. There are alot of good games to be played and I don't think any team should take a week off. Some good teams have a little easier road than others thanks to the new schedule but anything can happen on any given Saturday.

I'm not sure what is so fucking funny...the kids get opposing team autographs every week. They don't care what uniform is worn...all those players are larger than life to those kids. Why?...because they're kids, dipshit!

Who knows, did MSU's "defense" ask for Moore's autograph after he steamrolled them last year?

Ogden, UT – The Big Sky Conference announced Wednesday that Northern Arizona football player Mike Dosen has been issued a one-game suspension for an illegal hit.

The incident occurred in Northern Arizona's 41-31 victory at Montana last Saturday. Dosen initiated helmet-to-helmet contact with a Montana player on a third-quarter play.

Dosen, a sophomore defensive back from Pittsburg, Calif., will serve his suspension on Saturday when Northern Arizona hosts Portland State in Flagstaff.
