Seriously though, congrats on the 10k+. I'm hoping that will happen for us once the stadium is done.
I can't wait till next year. I don't know if you as excited as I am. But to play Albany yearly once again will probably be the best upgrade for Stony Brook in the next couple of years.
I agree. Its especially exciting considering we both have good squads this year and should be good next year as well.

I'm hoping the students really get on board and the rivalry really takes off.

I had Albany at 16 last week, but have dropped them from my poll because I don't like people trying to exert undue influence on others ballots. :tothehand:

Really curious who you have above many of those teams...particularly EKU, ISU, SBU, Del and Albany.

And SDSU...really?!?!? SELA is their big win....or McNeese's bad loss. I definitely considered the Jacks...and still am...in the 22-30 range.

Not saying SDSU shouldn't be in the poll. However, you don't vote a team simply on their "All-MVFC" award winners or pre-season accolades, or their POTENTIAL, which I agree is rather high for SDSU.

However,

Kansas L
SELA W
Davis W
ISU W

Bonus points for SELA and ISU wins on the road.

ISU's two WINS are one sub FCS and one non-scholly but aruguably decent PFL team. They own no convincing or signature victories or close loss to a ranked FCS team.

Davis- is a head scratcher b/c of their close losses to Cal-Poly and your SDSU. Hard to tell what this team is about right now.

SELA- got smoked by an FBS team (I will toss that)...but more importantly got SMOKED by teams in the FCS 22-35 range in UT-Martin and SDSU. Only FCS win, or DI win, is McNeese, which makes me question whether McNeese is a good team at all; I am perplexed by McNeese. Kansas- probably equal to the top 2-4 FCS teams right now.

Compared to Albany,

YSU is probably our Kansas
Colgate is probably our Indiana State
Maine is probably a bit better than SELA...

"6 and one", however...as of last week, hype or otherwise, Albany has played better teams and put out better performances. Again, I think SDSU has business being in the poll or at worst, highly considered...but it's not a gimme.

Guess the same could be said of many teams....

When you say "And SDSU...really?!?!?!" followed by your other mouthdiarrhea in disagreement of another posters #18 pick. That's discounting. If I were you, and thank god I'm not. I'd stop trying to get the dicks of all your favorite team's players in your mouth at once long enough to realize what you are saying. And I can't go bang a goat because the line into your mom's house is to long.......maybe your sister's available, you whiny-bitch.

You brought up the goat banging. Once goats are brought into it, it's gloves off.

I'm sure you are a nice guy and your team is very good. Why you are so worked up about their ranking is beyond me. If they win they will be ranked, if they don't, then they won't it's beyond your control.

P.S. You probably need some time since the polls are out and Albany is not in either Top 25. Just calm yourself and don't do anything drastic.

I took a year off last year for you.

In all seriousness, I really think Albany is very very good. The games against Maine and YSU were the first games in history that I can remember where we really are on the same level as the Top FCS teams in terms of depth, speed and strength.

Our QB played horrendous against Maine and in the past that would have been the death knell for us, but our Defense stepped up big time and made a ton of stops inside the red zone.

With only 38 scholarships in play (and only 2 full scholarship players on the team) it is very exciting to think of what we can turn out with 63 rides and 40+ full rides.

I had Albany at #22 this week. The last time I had them ranked (week 3 I think), they lost the very next game (albeit a close one to YSU, but to me a loss is a loss whether by 1 or 100). They rebounded well and got a nice win against Maine so they came back in. A loss there probably drops them back out of the top 25 and seriously hurts their postseason chances.

You guys are so blind it makes me laugh.

Keep ignoring Albany. Fine by me.

Clenz - how do you justify UNI losing to YSU by the same margin as Albany? Should UNI be dropped out of the Top 25?
I'm not justifying anything, nor am I taking a stance.

I do this with all trends, including uni. When we best iowa state a couple years ago they ended up finishing last it seconds to last in the big 12, and I've pointed that out many times...i point out the fact that fbs teams ndsu, liberty,etc...have all been horrible and likely beaten bya good number of fcs teams. A won over a team that is ranked highly at the time looks great at that point, but if that team finishes under.500/unranked out loses some of it's luster. I'll ssu the same about the app state win over montana if they end up a bad team this year.

Fwiw I think albany should be a top 25 team.....i also believe uni is better than albany even if the difference was"the same"

What do you base this on though? We're both biased in different directions here, but the only objective thing to use as a comparison is a common opponent, which result is exactly the same. Do you think UNI is better because they have more scholarships? Because they have been better in the past? Because the play in a better league?

Btw, I watched the second half of the YSU-UNI game and I really don't see a noticeable on-field difference between Albany and UNI. I don't see it between YSU and Albany either. I think you'd be surprised to see how well we match up against just about every team in the country this year.
