Who is #1?
With North Dakota State, Montana State, Old Dominion, and Wofford all losing. Who will be #1 in the upcoming rankings.

Eastern. Only loss was a heart breaker @ Wazzu.

My guess is EWU, though I think Cal Poly has looked amazing so far.
If I were voting, I'd pick Cal Poly.

Re: Who is #1?
I bumped Sam up to #1 (I had them at #4 last week), but suspect that the consensus of the board will be for EWU. I DID move the Eags to #2.

Cal Poly and EWU have a better resume than Sam Houston St.
Neither has lost to an FCS team yet.
Now that people have figured out SHSU's weird offense, they haven't been nearly as dominant as last year.

Re: Who is #1?
If that's actually true, then EWU will prove it in Cheyney next week. Of course, odds are, they'll win next week regardless....

Re: Who is #1?
I would have Cal Poly at #1 right now. Eastern maybe around #5.

That still doesn't address why you have SHSU at #1.SuperHornet wrote:If that's actually true, then EWU will prove it in Cheyney next week. Of course, odds are, they'll win next week regardless....

Re: Who is #1?
I had Sam at #4 and felt that their win was sufficient to pass App at #2 and that their margin of victory outweighed the fact that EWU (#5 coming in) beat #3 MSU by only a FG.

Re: Who is #1?
MSU was the #2 going into this game.
And anyway, the 1-5 rankings are probably a complete wash at this point.

Re: Who is #1?
EWU is my #1, but honestly, there's no clear #1 at this point.

It clearly has to be someone east of the Mississippi.

I think you're still experiencing concussion-like symptoms after the beatdown Nova gave ODU. You meant West.CAA Flagship wrote:It clearly has to be someone east of the Mississippi.

Re: Who is #1?
Eastern may wind up #1 by default, but nothing about Eastern makes us deserve to really be the top dog. We've squeaked out some ugly, ugly wins.
I watched JMU last week and wasn't all that impressed with them either.
Cal Poly gives me nightmares.

Re: Who is #1?
I didn't have Montana St ranked as high as the polls have them. Georgia Southern is my new #1, NDSU drops to 8. Poly and EWU enter the top 10 in my poll.

Re: Who is #1?
Well...I'm clearly biased but I just can't see how Cal Poly shouldn't be in at least a top 5. There is a strength of schedule argument to be made for a few teams but in my mind there is certainly no 2 loss team that should be ahead of them and I could easily make an argument for Cal Poly at # 1.
