Delaware at ODU thread
I locked it and moved it. Lines were crossed and people requested it be taken down.
We are extremely relaxed here when it comes to most stuff but sometimes things go too far even for CS. Please don't push things so far in the future.

So is that what this place has become? The first instance at someone whining and crying because they get pwned after talking shit and the thread is locked and moved? Vidav this isn't very Russian of you, and worse, this isn't very CS-like. This is the last place on Earth where our civil liberties actually exist and now this?!? The pussification of America continues...and now it is emulating itself on the internet. This is a slippery slope, now everyone will run, cry and hide behind the mods when they start getting pwned.

Wasn't Razor that asked for it.SDHornet wrote:So is that what this place has become? That's it, you're talking shit. Mods I demand this thread get locked.Vidav wrote:Wasn't Razor that asked for it.
Truely I jest, Chris has to do what he has to do.

Re: Delware at ODU thread
On topic, hope a good contingent of UDel fans come down. We're doing a real good halftime show this week, personally one of my favorites of this year.
Re: Delware at ODU thread
There was a lot of blame to go around in that thread spiraling out of control. While I was only a part of it, I apologize for my role in the whole deal.
OK - that issue is done for me.
The game: I am super excited to attend a game at ODU. I'm really looking forward to tailgating with the ODU fans I will be meeting up with Saturday morning. It may be the last opportunity to do so. The rise of the program to its current level in a few short years is very impressive and should be a model for any other school that wants to start up a program. You have a unique advantage of being an emerging program in a previously untapped market. I think you'll be very competitive in C-USA within five years as well.
I think ODU here in Week Nine is a top-three team in the CAA, in a separate strata from where Delaware is, which is smack dab middle mediocre (and even that may be generous once the whole season pans out). I think ODU takes this game fairly easily, though we all know that anything can happen in football. Many, many points will be scored. Other than URI, you may be looking at the two worst defenses in the CAA. Barring a wild spat of turnovers or heavy wind and rain, I could see 100 points being scored and I think ODU wins by two or three scores. I really hope UD can hang around and maybe some crazy stuff could happen late to allow us steal one and seal the big upset.
Trombone, we used to travel very, very well. A game at W&M would usually see at least a couple of thousand Hen fans. Alas, there has been a lot of turmoil with regard to our fanbase in the last few years and some of the passion has waned. I hope we have a good contingent down there, but if I had to predict, I'd say maybe only 1,000 or so UD fans will make the trip. Keep in mind this is also a noon game, which makes a day trip hard. If you'll recall, last year's game in Newark was at noon also, and ODU turnout was very poor. I was there and you didn't even have 500 people there by the looks of it. It's not exactly like our team is setting the world on fire this year anyway.
We'll see!

I am going to return you and get a different role model from the discount rack.
These signatures have a 500 character limit?
What if I have more personalities than that?

There were a couple thousand UD fans at W&M this year. Just about the entire northeast portion of Zable was filled with Hen supporters.93henfan wrote:

Alas, you will likely only see at max about 1k UD fans at ODU, since ODU sells out their stadium, and they are only required to offer 1k tickets to the visiting school per the CAA rule book.

Can we at least get "DELAWARE" spelled correctly on the thread title. It's not like it's Massachusetts or Connecticut or a hard one to spell... Show some respect to the First State.

Re: Delware at ODU thread
A few other posters were saying Razor's rants were all BS anyway. They said they scoured Ameriprise's, or whoever he said he worked for, website & couldn't find anyone that looked like him in the Greater Virginia Beach/Norfolk area. I thought he had some worthless mid-major basketball website that was his job, oh well, at least the thread was fun for a while.

Re: Delaware at ODU thread
Interesting stat leading up to the game:
3rd down conversions:
ODU 52-107 (49%)
UD 50-104 (48%)
4th down conversions:
ODU 17-21 (81%)
UD 3-5 (60%)
We don't seem to like field goals and punts.

Re: Delware at ODU thread
FWIW, he admitted he grew up in a wealthy part of Va Beach (evidenced by his attendance of Randolph Macon) and that his father was an ODU professor (explains the seats at games). This all adds up.bluehenbillk wrote:A few other posters were saying Razor's rants were all BS anyway. I'll be at the game Saturday. I'm really glad I've got the chance to check out ODU's stadium before they move on. I just hope the Hens keep it close and don't stink up the place.

Razor posted all the images of himself and his horse of his own accord; the least we can do is allow the thread to be seen, while keeping it locked. Bueller?

I agree that locking and allowing viewing is the way to go. It was way too funny to deprive the masses.
