Better location: check (Orange Bowl site)
Better sightlines: check (not wedged in to a football stadium
not getting poured on during bp and the 7th inning of EVERY GAME: check... much as i hate the aesthetic of retracto-roofs... sure beats the nightly rain delay.
I love baseball... but even I wouldn't trek out to Dolphins Stadium to watch a mediocre team play in a football stadium, and get poured on at least once per game...
that said... i have my doubts... mostly because Miami sports fans suck the bag. they compete with Atlanta for their front-running and no-showing

it plays well with the old Miami Marlins name. It helps them make 3 of the 4 Miami sports brand themselves as Miami.
Not so fast, as they say though, because listening to the radio down here. It looks like there will be more protests and more filings in court. The people do not want these bedtax dollars to go to the marlins. They rather see more parks or a new convention center.
So until they finally break ground, I would say it isn't 100% yet.

same ol same ol...
they tried that here too. but once the bills are passed... you really can't stop it. esp. since the Enviro work is going to be a breeze given the Orange Bowl site. there's really not a lot left for them to do... a bunch of goobers marching around won't really change anything... and if MN is any indication... they won't even vote the guys who got the thing built.

the reason they have the chance to stop it is because of the clause that they need the backed bonds purchased by june or july 1. The bed tax money will cover it, but it is not there and if it doesn't cover it they will use regular tax dollars now. It has been a huge shitfest of the last 2 days.
Here is a picture of the stadium, the other one was an older rendering.

and the emptiest.
I actually think closing it in at 72 degrees will be a huge help. I know I have bought tickets and come game day it is either mid day and hasn't rained yet so I don't want to get caught in it. Or it is about 97 and I would last 20 minutes outside before being miserable.

Being outdoors in FL is great as long as the rain holds off, usually the rain doesn't last too long.
