Field Hockey
In a battle of two of my favorite schools, Seed #4W UOP came up on the short end of a 2-1 OT score against #1E Liberty at the NorPac Conference Tournament at Longwood today. My Tigs drop to 5-13 (if there's such a thing as a "signature win" with a record like that, it would be either MI St or Cal), and the Flames improve to 15-5 (best win was 8-1 over App). UOP finishes in the losers bracket against the Manure Pile tomorrow. Liberty faces #3E Davidson tomorrow for the third time in the last 13 days (Liberty won a home-and-home pair). This was Liberty's program-record seventh win in a row. The conference champion will play the MAC champion in a NCAA Tournament play-in game on Tuesday. If a West Coast team wins the title, they will stay at Longwood for that game.
In other first round action:
Game 1: #3E Davidson d. #2W UCD 2-1
