Schayes left Buffalo after one game in 1971. There also was a coach in 1952 that was let go after three games.

Everyone is talking about Kobe pulling out of his support for Brown early. What no one has brought up is that Head-Case Howard. He got Van Gundy fired in Orlando at the end of last season, goes to the Lakers and promptly gets the Laker coach fired after five games. I'm not sure, but I think this has nothing to do with Kobe (for once).

The Lakers are returning to the past talking to Phil Jackson but he has reservations about traveling on the road.

Belichick's first go-round as HC wasn't all that good, either....

Yeah but no one was asking for Magic after the Lakers let him go.I don't think he will be asked again.

Sounds like the Lakers Brass didn't think they had the players that were best suited for the Triangle, again, according to ESPN.

ESPN commentator Flip Saunders doesn't think the Lakers have the right talent to run D'Antoni's system.

That sorta depends on whether D'Antoni is truly tied to his "system," or if he's flexible enough to install a system compatible with the available talent. It's also theoretically possible that he may ride out the current season and make wholesale changes NEXT year to fully install that with which he is most comfortable. He's probably smart enough to recognize that making such changes NOW would likely be too disruptive.

You can say all of the above statements about Jackson as well, the difference is that Jackson has proven that he can win, and that he can win with talent.

If the Lakers picked D'Antoni because they didn't think the team could handle Jackson's system they are idiots.

The Lakers aren't ready to run either system because of the age factor.Stephen A.Smith stated that Jackson wanted more decision making powers within management he doesn't get along with the owner Jim Buss.

That makes more sense than some BS about not being able to run a "system".

Lakers don't have the right mix at all. They are an old team who can't shoot at all. Nash is the only piece that can possibly work in this system, and he is injured.
