They rolled us 30-0 and we had a darn good team this year.

I think some of that game was an abhoration, but Wagner played pretty darn good today as well.
Careful Dane. No use using logic. These guys have never seen Wagner, the NEC or the PL, but they know that they suck.
I watched Wagner play today and that's the first time I've ever seen them. I was impressed. They are fairly solid all over the field. They don't have a lot of size, but they fly around and they have a lot of heart. Eastern doesn't have a week off despite what some people are saying. Eastern can exploit some mismatches with our big DL and very big receivers. With that, EWU should win... but Eastern has been known for letting teams hang around and as much as I hate to say, I think Wagner will still be around until late in the game.

Hope I'm wrong and Eastern justs puts them to the sword, but Eastern always seems to play to the level of their opponent and just do enough to win.

When did I say no one else was at our level? I'm only talking about the PL and the NEC...

Show me 1 big win the PL or NEC has had this year?
Doesn't mean that they aren't capable. The PL plays mostly itself and the Ivy, not much chance for big wins there.

Don't think they aren't capable nor do I think it is mission impossible for them. But I'll just leave it at this, out of Stony Brook, SDSU, CCU, and Wagner, I wish Wagner was coming to Fargo.

Not EWU's fault. But what an absolute crock. A team earns the #1 seed then gets by far the toughest opponent of any of the seeds.
Which is why I think they should do away with regionalization and just seed every team and then set up the bracket like they do in basketball. If they did it that way, the #1 seed would get a bye in week 1 and then play the winner of the #16 vs #17 game in week 2. Or, they could rebracket after the first week and the #1 seed could play the lowest remaining seed.

In 2003 Delaware was 10-1 and opened the playoffs against #5 Southern Illinois (also 10-1). Crappy draw for Delaware and even worse for the Saluki's who deserved a better fate than opening in Newark.

It should be better next year when we get 8 seeds each of which gets a bye and a home game.

I was at that game, many people on this message board laughed at Bison fans that said RMU was a decent team. They said NDSU would get blown out by Montana State and go home after opening against a patsy NEC team. They blew out Montana State and took EWU into overtime.

..........and even after that run there was a Bluehen fan in the bunch saying NDSU had no impact in the playoffs. 2011 the crow was served.

You never know, Wagner could find some misappropriated Hurricane Sandy relief funds & use that to outbid App. ;)

The disparity in scholarships may not be as big a difference as some may think. After all, EWU (and others) routinely play a number of 85 scholarship teams and do just fine.

I think the mis-match here, if there is one, is that EWU has a number of big time play makers (specifically at WR) that may cause problems for Wagner. Factor in the overall size and speed advantage for EWU and the fact that we just won a share of the title in a conference much more competitive than the one Wagner plays in, and that's the difference. But I agree that anything can happen. If we have a start like we did against PSU, I'll be a little concerned.

2011 playoffs are not the same as 2010 playoffs. I agree that NDSU had an impact in the 2010 playoffs, but 2011 had nothing to do with it.

This is the Big Sky's best chance to win a playoff game. Cal Poly and Montana State have pretty tough games against SHSU and Stony Brook ahead of them.

Very tough draws for MSU and CP, but both of those teams can play with anyone in the country. MSU has a good run defense so the SB matchup is very interesting. CP won't be favored but I feel like a lot of folks are really underestimating what they can do offensively.

On paper, EWU's a bigger favorite than MSU, but the Eagles didn't exactly sprint their way into the playoffs (after crushing CP, they barely beat Davis & PSU). Eastern still seems a little discombobulated on offense & that, combined with a middling run defense, could pose problems against a conservative, mistake-free team like Wagner.

That being said: if the Eags can successfully stack up the run, they don't have much to fear from the Seahawk passing game.

Wow, all you EWU fans have to root against the Seahawks. Have your heads exploded yet? ;)

The Seahawks spent many summers in Cheney. I remember watching Jack Patera surveying the field from a cherry picker when I was a kid.

No, my post was simply calling out your subtle insinuation that the Big Sky will struggle to record a win in the playoffs. :dunce:

Would be nice to get that deal going again, it was good for the Univ. I remember meeting Dennis Erickson one summer in the Phase. :)
