Pretty much at this point. I wouldn't be dead set on drafting Barkley however. Get a coach in their first with a system and then draft accordingly. Last thing you need is a Vince Young-Jeff Fisher situation.dal4018 wrote:And start from scratch??????GannonFan wrote:I'm still laughing about the Vince Young support. That's gold, Jerry, gold!!!![]()

As for how to fix the situation it's easy - dump Vick, fire Reid, and go from there. Pretty simple really.
I think a departure from the "West Coast Offense" is in order in Philadelphia.

Saw the game last night Folkes looked good for the time he played I say stick with him and build around him. That sieve called an Offensive line which is the perfect adjective OFFENSIVE needs to be addressed come April also get bigger at the skill position.I saw Maclin (6-0 197)take a vicious hit yesterday.Riley Cooper(6-3 210) and Jason Avant (6-1 210)are the only WRs with any type of size in their core everyone else is 6-0 or smaller and below 200.Keep the West Coast Offense that was never the problem.DSUrocks07 wrote:Pretty much at this point. Palmer was stuck in Cincinnati with management that put the C in cheap. Also his teammates couldn't their names off the police blotter.DSUrocks07 wrote:Carson Palmer won the Heisman trophy. He's not much better either.Grizalltheway wrote:

Re: "Fire Andy"
The west coast offense is less of a concern than the coach who doesn't know how to coach after kickoff or the front office that went from being entirely too cheap (Banner) to foregoing any diligence and throwing too much money at veterans (Roseman).
The comparisons between Reid and KC Keeler are fair. Both are good pre-game preppers who seem lost after the first whistle blows.
I saw on philly.com some talk about Brian Billick. Meh.

MNF this week should be one for the ages. I'll be in attendance. I'm getting my head fit for a paper bag as we speak....

Wonder who'll be the favorite? The 2-win team or the 3-win team with the 6-game losing streak?bluehenbillk wrote:MNF this week should be one for the ages. I'll be in attendance. I'm getting my head fit for a paper bag as we speak....![]()

If the Eagles lose to the Panthers at home on the national stage, Reid will be fired on Tuesday.

I won't be sad if they go 3-13, only way Geno Smith or Matt Barkley wear green next season....Seahawks08 wrote:If the Eagles lose to the Panthers at home on the national stage, Reid will be fired on Tuesday.

Re: "Fire Andy"
Andy won't be fired. He will most likely be allowed to finish the season, or the Eagles will find some excuse to gracefully allow him to step aside. After 14 years with the team, and the death of his son earler this year, the Eagles will treat him as well as possible.
He won't be back next year unless a miracle occurs - like the Eagles win out, somehow make the playoffs and get to the SuperBowl. On other words, Andy won't be back next year.

Re: "Fire Andy"
Agreed. It's not Lurie's style to fire a coach in the middle of the season. If Kotite and Rhodes (3-13 in '98) were allowed to finish out their dreadful final seasons under Lurie, why in hell would he fire his loyal lapdog of 14 years in mid-season?BlueHen86 wrote:Andy won't be fired. With two home games left after Monday night, at which the "passionate" Philly fans will have yet more opportunities to disgrace themselves, I tend to agree more with Seahawks08. If we lose to the Panthers and their young QB makes Foles look bad again, I think Lurie will fire Andy on Tuesday. It may actually be the more humane decision at that point, with all due respect to 86 and 93.93henfan wrote:Agreed. It's not Lurie's style to fire a coach in the middle of the season. I agree with you, but part of me wants to see a game or two full of boos and chants.

Best move for fat man would be to resign for the best interests of the organization.
Watch the Eagles bust off three or four wins in a row and screw everything up though.

Worst case scenario is that Andy is allowed to finishout the season, the team finishes 8-8 and Lurie decides to give him another year.93henfan wrote:Best move for fat man would be to resign for the best interests of the organization.

Lurie is on record that 8-8 is not good enough. He doesn't backtrack. Reid would have to go 9-7 to keep Lurie from being a liar. I don't see the Eagles winning out.

Re: "Fire Andy"
We were there last night. The team is bad and getting worse. The fans were too lethargic to care after booing the two wide-open TD passes in the first quarter. Lots of empty seats, and many left early.
