Villanova is the only team I can think that could make the move to the BIg East in football.GoldenBobcat wrote:Maryland and Rutgers are going to the B1G. Sources indicate that Boise State, San Diego State, and BYU will go back to the Mountain West, UConn to the ACC, and Louisville and Cincy to the Big XII. With these confirmed and possible moves, what will that mean for the FCS, if anything? Will the ripples cause any more teams to upgrade to the FBS? If Boise, SDSU, and BYU all stay in the MW, then it is likely that no Big Sky team will upgrade to the FBS, unless the WAC itself makes a comeback in football (which is rather unlikely). I don't see any other moves unless the Big East gets real desperate. Worst case only Temple and USF remain in the Big East, but teams like Houston, SMU, Navy, Memphis, and UCF still come over, but I don't see the Big East adding an FCS unless its Villanova or another CAA school. Not to mention will Illinois State try to make a move up during this current wave of shifting? There is so much to say, any thoughts?

Well GCU doesn’t help the WAC hang on to their auto-bids as they will be a D2 transitional. Just wait until the WAC adds a couple more GWC schools then you’ll really be saying “who?”.AZGrizFan wrote:Grand Canyon University just added as the newest WAC basketball member.SDHornet wrote: Probably worked out for the better that they didn't join the WAC. Re: Conference expansion ripple to FCS
Some of these conferences, especially the ones that are badly mismanged like the Big East or WAC, think pulling some urban school is their answer to "increase their footprint." They do it without consideration of who really makes sense and adds value to the conference. The Big East is just garbage now, I strongly suspect Boise and San Diego State will bolt, because they just did whatever they could to tie down admission for schools that really don't add any benefit.
The WAC is even worse, at this point it is a basketball-only conference with a couple of football playing schools. It really is no different than the WCC, except without a full-of-shit school filled with full-of-shit people like Gonzaga.
I'd be happy to bet Eastern could call the WAC commish today and be admitted tomorrow if so desired. And it would make absolutely no sense for the WAC, because Eastern totally lacks the facilities and budget to be an FBS member (it makes no sense for Eastern either...) But because they are so desperate, it could conceivably happen if Eastern was interested...

Word is the ACC is going to vote on expansion tomorrow and invite Louisville. Looks like the BE will have to go fishing yet again. Great moves BSU and SDSU, absolutely brilliant.

Louisville unanimously approved for the ACC.
It's time to re-name the Big East Football League to Conference USA & make C-USA the Sun Belt, it's basically reality.....
On the other hand, ACC Basketball which has been down for some time should be the best league in America next year or in 2 years.

Kentucky borders a state that's on the Atlantic coast. But we can't go picking on names otherwise we'd have to change them all.DSUrocks07 wrote:What coast is Louisville, Kentucky on again?bluehenbillk wrote:Louisville unanimously approved for the ACC.

That's Big 12. But the mistake is understandable. Keeping track of this is mind numbing.

Wait, when did we change the history books and exclude Georgia as one of the 13 original colonies? Do the text book manufacturers know this? Did this happen when we jettisoned Pluto?CAA Flagship wrote:There is nothing "Colonial" about Atlanta.93henfan wrote:

Re: Conference expansion ripple to FCS
I look at the SEC as having a footprint similar to the Confederacy and Missouri and Texas fit in as well as Kentucky. Texas was part of the Confederacy and Missouri was a border state like Kentucky. The southernmost part of Missouri is also further south than any part of Kentucky. It might not be a great fit but it's not horrible.89Hen wrote:Kentucky borders a state that's on the Atlantic coast.
