I hope Sean Price is at the end of those passes this weekend. This guy could be the next big thing to come out of the 1-AA ranks and at 6-5. 210 he has the necessary size.He should have a field day this Saturday because Illinois St has no DB with the necessary size to deal with him.Steve Nelson at 6-0 200 is the only DB that has some size to play vs Price.

Wow dal, you have quite the bromance with Price....I know I've read this comment in at least 5 other places. Not that there's anything wrong with that.....

I wouldn't go that far just realizing this guy is a once in generation talent lol.Wonder why this guy isn't at a 1-A powerhouse UNC,NC St.What I'am really anxious to see is the Illinois St WR core and how frosh DB Alex Grey 6-3 210 deals with them.He has a legitimate chance of breaking Randy Moss 1-AA frosh record for receiving yds 1,073.Price is 44 yds short.

Over the last two years the Hillbilly defense has lost a good many studly guys ...
even a few to graduation

Good questions both.
Yes, App played 3 Triple Option teams this year, first The Citadel, then Wofford, then GaSo. The Citadel ran all over us -- my younger son said it seemed like they ran for 600 yds. on 4 plays. It sure seemed like it to me. The D overran every single play, except those they under-ran. For Wofford, the D played a bit better, but we still lost. And, by GaSo, the D had it figured out. And, in hindsight, there's no question that GaSo was a better team than El Cit.
We ALWAYS play GaSo tough. As do they.
I think it is safe to say that stats at this point in the season are pretty much meaningless here. The D we put on the field for El Cit. & Woffie is COMPLETELY different & much improved at this point.
Got tix yesterday, got hooked up with a parking pass today, so it'll be beer and brats around 10AM at Rivers St. parking deck. Any of you ISU (or ASU) guys stop by for a beer if you're close by.

Yes we had 2 BAD home losses, but we were undefeated on the road. All the pressure will be on ASU since its your crowd, you have history with the Titles, and you have a bad taste from recent playoff losses!
I'll be in Boone on Saturday, hopefully to celebrate a Redbird victory!!
Matt who is the Redbirds top WR????I want to see how good Alex Grey is as a DB he has plenty of size at 6-3 210 and he's a frosh!!!!!
This seems totally even on paper: ISU is good defensively but just OK on offense; App State is really good offensively but weak on defense. I'm not confident, but I'll take the Mountaineers because it's in Boone & the Redbirds are just 3-3 in their last 6 games.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:
Quarterbacks -- Appalachian St.
Running Backs - Appalachian St.
Receivers/TEs - Appalachian St.
Offensive Line - (push)
Defensive Line - Illinois St.
Linebackers --- Appalachian St.
Secondary ---- Illinois St.
Kicking ------ Illinois St.
Punting ------ Appalachian St.
Return Teams - Appalachian St.
Kickoffs ------ Illinois St.
Illinois St. 28-31 Appalachian St.
All right everyone knows I think Sean Price is unstoppable the real matchup that I'am looking forward to seeing is ISUs Milton Colbert 6-4 210 vs App St's Alex Grey 6-3 210 and Chris Shaffer 6-3 200 vs Brandon Newbern 6-4 205.I personally would call this a toss up all four of these guys are equally matched up.

To answer your PM, Illinois State wins DBs primarly because they're 2nd. in the nation in passing efficiency D while the Mountaineers are 76th. I think ISU's WRs have an advantage against App's secondary, but App's overall offense is better than ISU's so the matchups for the game roughly balance out.

Dude, bring it on.
Easy there tough guy....I don't even have a horse in this race, I'm a Bison fan. I was just saying you better hope your D shows up for this game, cuz the Redbirds have very balanced offense and an experienced QB.

If their pass defense is that horrible, it must be a problem with the front seven and a lack of a pass rush,Two jumbo sized corners like Shaffer,Grey don't come around all the time.Imagine them in Redbird uniforms would love to see them vs Price if that were the case.
