While the Navy helmet isn't horrible, I'm not thrilled with it, either. It's too busy. The fouled anchor is awesome, but the rest of the helmet should be just white. There's too much on there as is to distract from the fouled anchor. The WWII map stuff on the Army uniforms is way too fine to be seen at a distance, and is therefore worthless. Undershirts are not generally seen, and are thus a waste of money; a simple t-shirt from the men's department would be sufficient. Additionally, I've NEVER liked that compression stuff. It's disgusting....

And ABOVE ALL get rid of those bogus Nike swooshes. When Nike gets involved, everything gets ruined; Oregon's unis are ample proof of that....

SD: If the map image on the Army uni is so cool, why not put up a map of the Marianas Turkey Shoot on the Navy unis?

Damn dude you never have anything good to say. You can find a fault in a serene, beautiful sunrise. :tothehand: Besides, to suggest Nike, or any company, wouldn't put their brand on a product is ridiculous and has nothing to do with the uniform. It has more to do with your hatred for Nike.

I think they look pretty f'n sweet.

It hast to do with Army football being exceptionally good during WW2 but being overshadowed by the war.

Commemorating the Battle of the Bulge, the Black Knights' uniforms will feature a map of the region in which the German offensive and Allied counteroffensive took place.

"From far away, it may look like just scribbled lines, but when you get up close you see the detail typography and unit identification and movements on the map, which makes this really unique," explained Nick Determan, the head equipment manager.

The map, emblazoned through the numbers on the jersey, will also be featured in the black stripe on the helmet, the detail on the gloves and on the sleeves of the uniform base layer, according to Determan.

There are also several other unique elements included in the uniform. The gold color featured on the helmets and uniform stripes is a throwback to the Army national championship teams of the 1940s. Also, the back of each helmet will feature a black spade, a symbol used by the Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) during World War II and the Battle of the Bulge.

The Army was "exceptionally good"?

Then how come the Marines had to mop up the Army's mess in Okinawa?

They's complete opposed to everything about the male body, and any clothing that might show off the form even a little....

They also doesn't realize the benefits of the compression style uniforms/undershirts that are worn and the fact that kick the ever loving shit out of cotton t-shirts.

Mostly, they doesn't know a fucking thing about what they is saying.

Oh?

I was at a memorial site on Okinawa where they told us the story of the battle. I'll never forget it.

The Army was p!$$ed at all the pub the Marines were getting in the Pacific Theater, so when area commander Howlin' Mad Smith was replaced, they got an Army guy in charge. When he planned out the operation, he sent the Marines far to the north and kept the plum targets in the south for the Army. After two weeks, the Marines had taken care of all of their objectives, while the Army was bogged down. In desperation, they called the Marines south, but kept the suspected Japanese HQ for the Army with explicit orders for the Marines to keep out. Word of that prohibition never reached one Marine battalion, which took it with no casualties because the Japanese had bailed. The Army called in an airstrike, but word of that never reached the trapped Marine battalion. The heard the planes coming and scrambled to find a flag to wave the planes off. No American flags in the entire unit. But one guy DID have the Stars and Bars on him, which they raised, thereby saving the day.

Yes, a WWII Marine unit got saved by the Confederates. And the Marines cleaned up after the Army screwed up.
