If wofford had a decent 3rd down passing attack, ndsu is toast. Honestly! Ndsu's defense won that game. It was t even ndsu's defense it was the 100% predictability of woffords offense. I was not impressed by ndsu. I was more impressed by Georgia southern's road win. However it is tough to beat a good team at home.
My prediction? Too close to call. Good luck! See ya in frisco

Re: #6 Georgia Southern @ #1 North Dakota State
GSU is similar with no passing offense...but instead add a more athletic QB to the mix and take away EB and replace him with Swope(who is good but not EB).
That said NDSU held Wofford to zero offensive points, I'd say that is kind of impressive.

when a team actually puts up 28 on ndsu this season i will believe it. until then its just wishful thinking and down right stupidity to think that gsu will. this isnt saying they cant win but i dont see them scoring 20

This here.
The most points given up this year is 21.
Plus, the Bison have given up a total of 37 points in the last 6 playoffs games.
I like the Bison's chances.

Looking forward to the 'chess match' between the GSU offense and the Bison defense.
NDSU's offense needs to keep drives going and not turn it over. Keeping the GSU offense off the field will definitely help.
Brian Shepard (SS) is back and will give some depth in the backfield and special teams.
GO BISON

What could be more exciting than a rematch? Well, I can think of a lot of things… like actually having new teams playing—but this is OK too, I guess. Anyway… if the past several weeks of North Dakota State games are any indication, offense will be totally irrelevant in this game and everything will be decided by the defenses. The Bison D will shut their opponent down completely, and their offense will give the opponent defense most all their team's points. NDSU could be overdue for a loss given their complete lack of a passing game since midseason, but I think the Eagles are more overdue because of their complete lack of field goal kicking. That could set Georgia Southern up for late-game tragedy with points coming at an absolute premium in this contest.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

They just said that a road team has not won a semifinal game since 2008.

I'm stuck at work until 7pm. Have the radio in the car set to the game for the half hour drive home.

Isn't there an establishment with refreshments and possibly nourishment near work where you could catch the game from the start?Gil Dobie wrote:I'm stuck at work until 7pm. Have the radio in the car set to the game for the half hour drive home.

Yes, there are several NDSU viewing parties in the city, but getting there is just long as going home on a Friday night. Anyway, I like the NDSU announcers better. Might be homers, but they know FCS.grizzaholic wrote:Isn't there an establishment with refreshments and possibly nourishment near work where you could catch the game from the start?Gil Dobie wrote:I'm stuck at work until 7pm. That sucks...unless you have your DVR set up to record the game then when you get home you can just start the game, and watch without commercials.Gil Dobie wrote:Yes, there are several NDSU viewing parties in the city, but getting there is just long as going home on a Friday night.
