Hell of a game, but like I said, it was close and we didn't give up (2506). Congrats to SHSU, they were the better team and they deserved to win. Now back up your arrogance and beat those bi-son clowns.

I just want to point out that the real reason EWU lost was because gayalltheway was wearing a "San Antonio, Texas" T-Shirt and was trying to hide it from everyone the whole game.

Re: EWU v. Sam Houston State
I had a headache from watching the 1st half on that god awful bloody tampon, it was a 35-0 blowout, so I, like probably 90% of the non affiliated fans that were watching, turned the game off. I later saw 45-42 final. WTF happened? Did SHSU go on a 2nd half siesta or something?

Re: EWU v. Sam Houston State
more like EWU lit it up. still am in a bit of disbelief on how this game went down and how similar it was to last years semi with the grizz. Like last year at the end of the game the just rode the back of Timothy Flanders to a rematch with NDSU in the Natty.BDKJMU wrote:I had a headache from watching the 1st half on that god awful bloody tampon, it was a 35-0 blowout, so I, like probably 90% of the non affiliated fans that were watching, turned the game off. Re: EWU v. Sam Houston State
I guess it's a bandwagon but I started liking to watch North Dakota State a long time ago because I like their style. Have said on the McNeese board in the past before they ever won a national title that if McNeese isn't in the playoffs I'm pulling for North Dakota State. I like that they are able to win playing "old school" football in this era of flag football offenses. They play sound defense and physical offense. My name is not AlphaJizz and I'm not an SHSU fan, I don't join bandwagons.
I loved watching their game against Northern Iowa in 2011. Classic case of just grinding and grinding and finally wearing an opponent down. At the end they were putting two fullbacks in the backfield and just running right at the Panthers getting chunks of yardage.
Love that kind of football. Play defense. Keep pounding on offense. Then in the fourth quarter the runs that were going for one or two yards in the first quarter are going for 4 to 6 yards in the fourth. You look up at the end and the opponent is totally, physically beaten. I'd much rather watch a team win like that than watch a Mike Leach type thing.
I like option football too like Georgia Southern plays. But I like the NDSU style even better. It's like the guys calling the game Friday night said prior to kickoff: It's kind of like watching early to mid 1990s Nebraska. Nebraska of the 1990s did have more option in their offense but it's still similar.
In that regard: One of the most enjoyable football watching experiences I've ever had was watching 1995/1996 Nebraska crush Florida in that de facto national championship game. The ultimate experience for someone who prefers "old school" physical football over flag football offense; with the whiz bang Florida fun and gun style just getting totally mutilated by Nebraska's physical play.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

5 WR sets and sling it around is also enjoyed by many too.
NDSU is not 'flashy' and probably never will be with Bohl as the coach. When Babich came in and scrapped the veer in the mid-90s, I thought there might be a riot in Fargo. The veer that the Bison had run was a very good offense that produced many NCs. But, I do enjoy watching our 'power west-coast' offense. It might be boring for some to watch but if you like good 'ol fashion power offense where you line up and make the defense beat you, then NDSU is a good team to root for.
I loved watching GSU come into the dome and run their triple-option of saturday. The QB ran it to perfection and he was tough as nails. He got up slow many times but still came back and took it to the Bison defense.
Personally, I thought the Bison's year was going to be next year with all of the juniors that are starting this year. With our starting DT and SS coming back next year, '13 could also be a very good one. Next year's 1A game is against Kansas State. That game should be a good measuring stick for next year's Bison team.
SHSU will be a tough game for the Bison again this year. They also have a lot of players back from last year and watching them the last 2 weeks, they seem to be playing very good offensive FB right now.
The Bison will need to bring their A-game to win this NC game.

Re: EWU v. Sam Houston State
Cant believe how bad that SHSU got fu*ked in that game by the refs. 16 penalties and 12 of them were bullshit calls.
Still wasnt enough to help EWU, just goes to show they were very over rated all year long. Nobody gets their ass handed to them like that and is a good team.

Yeah, but I just looked it up- last yr was 28-14 at the half. Ifs its 2-3 TDs at the half I'll keep watching. 5 TDs at the half, no way. I've never seen a team come back from 5 TDs down.htownbearkat wrote:more like EWU lit it up. still am in a bit of disbelief on how this game went down and how similar it was to last years semi with the grizz.
