Ahhh, no.

NDSU can handle SHSU's running game. Showed that last year. Now if SHSU gets their passing game going. Wait a minute, we intercepted them twice last year. Never mind.

NDSU - 17
SHSU - 7 - they actually score a touchdown this year

Congrats to both of these teams for making it into the NC game for a second year in a a row. Both teams are really solid with few weaknesses and have passionate fan bases. :notworthy:

I think SHSU will do better this year, Bell has improved a lot and that has made their offense more versatile but they will be up against the strongest and most complete defense in the division. NSDU's Offense has sputtered some this year, but they have found ways to score, it will be a challenge for them going against the fast and aggressive defense of SHSU. I am not picking either team since I really do like both programs, I think this years game will be close but low scoring.

Bell is much improved this year they are no longer one diminsional, NDSU has weaknesses (relative) in the passing game

NDSU's passing game was running pretty well until our #1 and #2 WRs got hurt. Jensen's confidence went down and hasn't been the same since.

With 3 weeks to heal, hopefully the WRs are at full strength on Jan 5th.

A well rested Bison defense will also help.

Probably will be a low scoring game.

Bison win.

Back to back.

20-17 SHSU

...of course NDSU has obviously shown great resilience in the last 7 games, so you can't ever count them out

Coin flip. I'm pulling for North Dakota State and think the chances of them pretty much shutting down Sam Houston State's offense are good. But they don't have the style of offense that has caused Sam Houston State's defense problems. North Dakota State does have a better defense. But Sam Houston State has a better offense and also I don't see their defensive weakness being exploited by North Dakota State.

North Dakota State has, I think, a better team. But I think the way the two teams match up gives Sam Houston State an excellent shot. My expectation is a defensive struggle. We all know we frequently don't get what we expect. But that's what I expect.

You're showing some lakes/JBB tendencies here. I think we're going to wait for BisoNation's opinion. Those are always MUCH more reality-based....

This game shouldn't be close. Beating the top 3 Big Fluffy teams is impressive, but NDSU is in a different class than any of those. Realistically speaking, look for the Bison to win by 3-4 TDs. Expect around 18 thousand NDSU fans in Frisco! Go Bison!

Matchups

QB- SHSU- Bell has been playing better as of late. Turnovers hurt Jensen
RB- SHSU- Flanders alone gives them a slight edge over Ojuri/Crockett
Wr- SHSU- Injuries set NDSU back a bit
OL- Even- Couldnt decide between the two
DL- NDSU- More depth
LB- NDSU- Grant Olson has 146 tackles and better overall
DB- NDSU- Better defensively and a guy named Marcus Williams
ST- Even

Head to Head
NDSU OL vs. SHSU DL: SHSU
NDSU RB vs. SHSU LB: SHSU
NDSU WR vs SHSU DB: SHSU
SHSU OL vs. NDSU DL: NDSU
SHSU RB vs. NDSU LB: NDSU
SHSU WR vs. NDSU DB: NDSU

I think the 3-week layoff helps NDSU more. SHSU's offense is somewhat gimmicky. Not that it doesn't work, but I think it can be slowed down when its opponents get time to prep. We've seen it with teams like Oregon in bowl games recently. NDSU's offense is much more straightforward. You know what you're getting, but can you stop it? SHSU can be slowed down a little more easily, I feel...as long as you get a few weeks of preparation. It's all moot if Jensen can't take care of the ball.

SHSU will be lucky to score over 30 points let alone 40.

A team has put 40 points up on NDSU defense one time since Bohl was our coach, nobody in the past two seasons has gone over 30, heck nobody has scored more than 21 on NDSU this year.

Okay Fargo I agree neither team's passing offense will remind me of those pass happy teams with Mississippi Valley St back in the 80s.Both are under 200 yds when it comes to throwing the ball.I asked Bison Cardinal about his guy named Carson Wentz if he is the starting QB he at 6-5 220 has excellent size and he is a redshirt frosh.

Definitely probably 20-17 or something like that. Both these defenses are just too good, the game will come down to special teams and turnovers.

His future is very bright. He is more of a pure passer, I heard he blew the coaching staff away when he came here in regards to how fast he picked things up.

That said this is Jensen's team right now, but with Carson at backup the coaching staff has been able to use Brock's running ability to the fullest extent which makes our offense a bit harder to prepare. Teams have to spy Brock or he'll burn them.

Defense wins championships and I give the edge to NDSU.
