He has three other younger kids as well. I'm just surprised at a person who can make their job so much a part of their life, sleep in the office, etc and completely ignore their family, especially when the oldest two kids were drug addicts five years ago, sticking guns in people's faces, t-boning old ladies while sky high on smack and leaving the scene, etc. When you've clearly failed as a father, maybe you take a little time to spend with the kids you have left, seeing as how the first two turned into convicts?
Who's to say how much time you need to spend with your kids to make sure they don't end up as drug addicts? There are plenty of addicts out there who had great parents and great upbringings and still fell to their addictions. And I'm not so sure these guys completely ignore their families - just because some guys go overboard on the staying in the office I think it's a bit of a myth in terms of how much these guys put into the job. Plenty of coaches say they get home every day and eat with their kids. Just because some guys like Vermeil and Gruden went all in with the time in the office doesn't mean everyone does that.
Fair enough, but most of the accounts I've read of Reid say he's consumed by the job. And I also believe the 100% stay at home mom bears a lot of responsibility too.

I think the "kids", if that's what we're going to call people approaching their 30's, deserve the majority of the responsibility. These were grown men who committed these crimes, not 16 year olds.

But like I said, he has three younger kids too. And the oldest who was sticking needles in his arm was doing it basically right under daddy's nose in his training camp. Just seems like a really out of touch dad to me.

So it's looking like Chip Kelly is going to the Browns (nfl.com) and Bill O'Brien is staying at Penn State (pennlive.com).

Way to move quickly Eagles. :ohno:

Sounds like Lurie really doesn't want to be one-upped by Banner! I love a little intrigue.

Cleveland Browns not meeting with Oregon's Chip Kelly yet because he's still with the Eagles

By Mary Kay Cabot, The Plain Dealer
on January 05, 2013 at 9:31 PM, updated January 05, 2013 at 10:21 PM

CLEVELAND -- The Browns are not meeting with Oregon's Chip Kelly yet, because he was still with the Eagles as of 9:15 p.m. eastern, a league source told the Plain Dealer.

The Eagles' had a lunch meeting with Kelly in Arizona that's stretched into the dinner hour. The Browns were set to meet with Kelly over dinner, and hoped to hammer out a deal, but he's been tied up with Eagles owner Jeff Lurie, president Don Smolenski and general manager Howie Roseman.

The Browns were set to bring their lawyers to the session with Kelly and sign him to a long-term contract to become their 14th fulltime head coach.

The competition for Kelly's services pits Browns CEO Joe Banner against his former employer Lurie, his boyhood friend...

Media outlets reporting that the Browns are now out of the picture. It's Ducks or Eagles with Ducks looking to be the likely destination. Can't knock a guy for staying in his comfort zone.

Slimmer pickins now for the Eagles as their top 2, perhaps top 3 picks are all gone.

I want no, let me be clear, zero part of Arians.

McCoy maybe or the DC from Seattle.... IDK

McCoy and Gus Bradley seem to be the front runners at the moment, but who really knows.

Bradley is an NDSU grad and spent a long time with the Bison coaching staff. Surpised the NDSU guys weren't all over this.

We generally don't read threads about Philly. Gus would be a good choice, just don't want to see a thread titled "Fire Gus" every fall.
