I passed through Huntsville on my way from Houston to the Twin Cities... wearing my NDSU sweatshirt... not a single person I met gave half a shit about the Kats - despite the fact they had JUST won a few days before.BDKJMU wrote:According to google maps & wiki:
SHSU, 17.6k students.
Huntsville, TX- Frisco: 199 miles/3 hours.
NDSU
14.4k students.
Fargo-Frisco: 1065 miles/15:48 hours.
Yet NDSU definitely had way more fans- seemed like 2 to 1. Great support by NDSU fans. Smaller school, over 5x the distance, and they brought way more fans.
As far as SHSU, only 3 hrs away and had what, only maybe 6-8k fans there?
Amazing it was cold as hell in that game.No_Skill wrote:Fun time. Know what's sad?...I got a friggin sunburn.
Football games are 4 quarters not 2. The limited Bison offense produced 441 yds with 300 rushing yards against SHSU. The Bison had injuries on the offense the 2nd half of the season, the 3 week break helped them heal up.Cluck U wrote:Wofford scored 7 points. Seven. Se-ven. 7. 6+1. Well, I wouldn't say they "mopped up everyone." I think both Wofford and Georgia Southern gave them all they wanted. They especially had their hands full with Georgia Southern. But they got it done and they're the ones I wanted to win the championship given who was in the field so I'm good with it.
GSU scored 20, but 7 of those were on a 49-yard trick play play where the NDSU defender decided to fall alseep and then kiss the ball carrier. So, really, 14 points. And how many over two years? Ooooooooooohh, scary.![]()
GSU's bread and butter got them 270 yards...hardly a problem.
NDSU was vulnerable this year...limited offense...but no team they faced was good enough or balanced enough to solve their weakness. More of a statement of the weakness of FCS than the stregnth of NDSU.
For those SoCon teams that think Wofford and GSU would have beaten SHSU...who cares? They probably would not have made it past EWU. Remember, EWU, once they remembered they were playing a football game, absolutely blew SHSU out in the second half.
And for those who think stats/yardage rule, Cal Poly drubbed SHSU in the stats columns also.![]()
Oooops!
A play action pass is now a trick play? Interesting.Cluck U wrote:Wofford scored 7 points. Seven. Se-ven. 7. 6+1. You are saying that is championship material?JohnStOnge wrote:

They got a lot of complaints in the past for saying Bison, so this time they got it right with Bizon.89Hen wrote:Congrats NDSU.![]()
BTW, was it me or did the announcers go out of their way to pronounce your team as "Bizon"?
Wait, you're serious? You pronounce it Bizon?Gil Dobie wrote:They got a lot of complaints in the past for saying Bison, so this time they got it right with Bizon.89Hen wrote:Congrats NDSU.![]()

Yes, it is pronounced Bizon in the great white north.89Hen wrote:Wait, you're serious? You pronounce it Bizon?Gil Dobie wrote:

It's not mis-pronounced, it's a regional pronounciation.89Hen wrote:Gil Dobie wrote:

Websters: bi·son noun \ˈbī-sən, -zən\
I don't think I was too far from reality. We handled their running game again and SHSU did score 1 touchdown. My dismissing of their passing game was real with our 4 interceptions.SuperHornet wrote:You're showing some lakes/JBB tendencies here. I think we're going to wait for BisoNation's opinion. NDSU can handle SHSU's running game. Showed that last year. Now if SHSU gets their passing game going. Wait a minute, we intercepted them twice last year. Never mind.
NDSU - 17
SHSU - 7 - they actually score a touchdown this year
What led you guys to mispronouncing Bal-more?89Hen wrote:Gil Dobie wrote:

Not too far off, but the Bison D, did take care of the passing game.Gil Dobie wrote:SAM throws more than GSU and Wofford, which brings Marcus Williams into the equation. SAM gets the 17 points and the first score, but the Bison D accounts for 14 and the offense 17. Bison 31, SAM 17.
How in the fuck can NDSU seemingly return 18-22 starters EVERY year?Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:NDSU lose only 10 seniors with 4 of them starters.
Next years team will get two starters back from injury (DT and SS).
The Bison will definitely be in the title hunt next year.
Next year will be the last run for this recruiting class. Many of them played a lot the year they lost to EWU. They are 10-1 in the playoffs. Hopefully they can cap off their careers next year by making history if all things fall into place. Going to just sit back and enjoy, cause once they are gone, who knows when the Bison will get a class like that again.AZGrizFan wrote:How in the **** can NDSU seemingly return 18-22 starters EVERY year?Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:NDSU lose only 10 seniors with 4 of them starters.

They had 14 coming back this past season I think according to the Phil Steele mag.AZGrizFan wrote:How in the **** can NDSU seemingly return 18-22 starters EVERY year?Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:NDSU lose only 10 seniors with 4 of them starters.

..peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard..
NDSU will not go undefeated. They haven't gone undefeated in years. And it won't happen this year. KSU and a MVFC team will get them- that's to be expected, anyway. I think NDSU's seniors have reached the point where they'll expect to win and teeter dangerously close to the "flip the switch" mentality. I'd prefer they don't, but that's human nature.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:AZGrizFan wrote:

Like Gill mentioned, a lot of these starters (juniors) played 2 yrs ago as freshman. Next year was suppose to be 'their' year....![]()
Many have been starting 3 yrs now. Great recruiting class. I think there are close to 30 of them. 2014, the Bison will come back down....but there are sophs and freshman that are contributing now.
I really think the '13 Bison team has a good shot at going undefeated. Kansas State will be tough as nails but barring major injury to key players, IMO, they have a legit chance of going 15-0. Now going out and doing it is a huge task. They will have a huge target on their backs.
But with Perry (DT) and Heagle (SS), both are AA candidates coming back, the defense could even be better in '13. The defense will lose 1 starter for next year....Martin (CB).
Coach Fritz for Sammy said in the post game press conference that the Bison were the best defense they have faced this year......Texas A&M and Baylor included.
