It was definitely a tale of two halves last night. EWU could have buried the Hornets if they shot better in the first half. Clutch FT shooting down the stretch put this one away.Mvemjsunpx wrote:

They were the worst team in the league last year, and—unlike most of the other teams—they lost quite a bit in the offseason.CatBlitz22 wrote:How are the Weber women so bad? Goodness.
In Carla Taylor's final year, Weber had three Montana players on the roster—Joey O'Neil (Butte), Megan Patterson (Columbus), & Jordan Pfau (Arlee/Missoula Loyola). O'Neil transferred after Taylor was fired, and Pfau & Patterson transferred this past offseason. Patterson also averaged double figures for Weber last season and Pfau was a significant bench contributor, so these were notable losses (not to mention the graduating seniors).

It was a 2 point game at half. ISU was scrappy...then WSU punched them in the mouth early in the 2nd half and they folded. Sac is going to have to have a solid game to get a win in Poky.Wildcat Ryan wrote:There will not be a Pokeytato knife this year, Weber downs Idaho State by 16 in Pokeytato 70-54

I actually think Sac will beat ISU in Pokey, ISU is not the best shooting team in the league, but they are a good defensive team, they like playing the slow mid-court game that throws some other teams off, like Weber last night in the first half. Weber started playing uptempo in the 2nd half and ISU couldnt keep up with us. ISU looked tired, it was thier 2nd game in two days and thier game vs Sac will be thier 3rd game in 6 days, Advantage Sac State.
ISU has some scrappy players, and Evans has that team going in the right direction, but I still think they are at least a year or 2 away from the conf tourney.

Re: Big Sky Basketball - 2012-13
I'm having a hard time explaining North Dakota basketball right now. There is oodles of talent on this team, but an injury to a key player to start the season hampered us, and now an ongoing injury to another key player is hampering us. Now we are having eligibility issues with two guys that figured to be big contributors. Prior to the start of the season, I was comfortable saying that I thought North Dakota would be a top 3 team in the Big Sky...................... right now I question if we are a top 7 team that can even make the tournament.
Having said that, after Weber and Montana, I think it is basically wide open as far as how the chips will fall for the rest of the season..................

Hornets lose an embarrassing one 60-59. Had a 10ish point lead early in the 2nd half. The last 30 seconds was a perfect example of why this program will not go anywhere under Katz.

Boy the Lady Griz look terrible today...and listening to the officials don't help, and the officiating for BOTH teams has been horrendous.

This crop of Lady Griz seniors finishes 1-3 against the Bobcats at Dahlberg. They are 3-0 in Bozeman, but still…

Cannot believe the Griz pulled out a win today. The Bobcats hit, what seemed like, damn near everything they tossed up. Game went to OT, and while the Griz continued to miss FT after FT after FT, they got the win.

UNC 38-63 EWU; The Eagles go 9/16 from the arc while the Bears go an improbable 0/22
