So is or isn't Armanti going to be working the parade? :coffee:
No idea what he does in the offseason. You however, rise to the bait like the good little fishy that you are. :coffee:

Stop with the Armanti jokes. He was a fine FCS QB. And he's not working at Disney.

Last I heard, he has Hollywood ambition and even landed a role in the upcoming Wizard of Oz franchise film. I forget the exact role, but I think it had something to do with being on a team of primates with wings who fly around on behalf of the Wicked Witch tormenting Dorothy and her buds.

56 yards is not the longest TD grab in Super Bowl history. Muhsin Muhammad and Antonio Freeman both have longer receptions. Muhammad's was 85 yards and I think it is still the record.
I understood him to say the kick return was the longest. Get TD Reception on a bad pass by Flacco though. The lights took the steam out of a Baltimore blowout, Baltimore offense was zombiesque in the second half.

Two week break means between games, not that they skip two Sundays. How many times have we gone over this?

Can't say I don't like to see an FCS QB win a SB MVP.

I'll say this, though...If I had a choice I'd rather a QB bring my program a marquee FBS win, two national championships, and 2 Walter Payton Awards than an MVP trophy. Even if Flacco becomes the most acclaimed QB in the NFL he won't do for Delaware what Armanti did for App. State. It's hella cool to have a former player (even a transfer player) get to where he is in the pros. It's not going to increase any high school player or fan interest in the program, though.

So a QB who sees a UD QB get drafted in the first round, start in the NFL in game one, win a bunch of playoff games, win the SB and then a SB MVP won't think... maybe I could go to UD and succeed like Joe?

No, they'll go to Pitt first, get frustrated by lack of playing time, then resort to transferring to an obscure D-II school. ;)

Not to mention the size of the donations Joe should be making.

I don't claim to be inside the minds of high school football players, but I have a hard time seeing UD's new coaching staff trying to use Flacco to sway them, especailly when that was the previous coaching staff and UD has certainly had some transfer QBs who were complete busts. I'd think the recent achievements of the program weigh more than the achievements of one person in the NFL.

Jeez with that logic Navy should be killing it when it comes to getting QB's.
"WE HAD ROGER STAUBACH COME PLAY HERE AND YOU'LL BE THE NEXT ONE"

Sorry, UD fans. This will boost fan interest for a bit, but it won't make a 3 star high school QB recruit go there next year when he could go to a BCS conference team, like almost all of them do and whether or not it's in their best interest.

Not to mention Stanford with Elway. How many franchise QBs did they produce between Elway and Luck?

You said it's not going to increase "ANY" fan interest or help with recruits.

It won't be THE selling point but it will definitely help in both regards.

Uh, it already did help. Pat Devlin came to UD, partly on the knowledge that a guy named Flacco went to UD and was drafted in the first round. I'd say Devlin was a successful QB at UD for his time here.

Bust. Singular, there was one bust in the QB transfer scheme, and that was Schoenhoft out of Ohio St (who you can say, technically, was a TE transfer, and probably shouldn't even be counted).
