Re: March Madness!!!
He basically won the game for us. Jags finished 12-0 at home, looking forward to a little tougher schedule at home. I love the way Coach Banks and Dr. Broussard (our AD) are putting together the basketball schedules. Competitive games against larger schools, a few mid major road games, and winnable home games. We've won more games in the past 2 years 37 than we did in the previous 5 (36 wins)dal4018 wrote:Your guy Miller got hot from three point country.tampajag wrote:Southern picks up win #20 beating Alcorn on Saturday 61-48. Thanks that is what I basically want I hear about this untapped talent.Next yr he should be a starter and that depends on how well he plays in the tournament.Hope NBA scouts are doing their homework and discover this 6-6 200 diamond in the rough. As stated before I think Miller is a young Allan Houston in the making.tampajag wrote:He basically won the game for us. Re: March Madness!!!
Hmm, who do you think will be the first team to lock in their seat in the Dance this year?
Will it be us? (If we continue our roll in the Ivies, as early as March 2 or March 8 (vs. Columbia at home, which is already eliminated from the postseason), we will lock it in, because our opponents this weekend are at Princeton and at Penn)
Or will it be somebody else in a conference tournament after a few days?

All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

Southern drops out of first place with a 79-66 loss at Texas Southern, bright side is that the Jags will be the #1 seed in the SWAC tourney.

Heartfelt thanks to Furple for giving us the sweep, and ensuring that we are only the second stinkiest basketball team in the country.

the one thing that helps us is that we won't be playing in any hostile environments, so we should do well. I found it messing around, can't remember the site.dal4018 wrote:Something your guys need to work on.This photo of the girl in the bathroom falling to,the floor where did you find it???tampajag wrote: yep all three on the road

Okay but you guys need to start playing in hostile environments. When you play better in the home of the enemy you play better overall.tampajag wrote:the one thing that helps us is that we won't be playing in any hostile environments, so we should do well. Are the zags still considered a mid-major? Congratz to them for reaching the #1. Naturally, that means they'll lose sometime in the next week.

Re: March Madness!!!
Butler is still a mid major and they actually played in back 2 back championship games. Gonzaga will always be a mid major on account of the weak conference they belong to, much like Boise St. Football. They will also be labeled overrated/under achievers if they go in as a 1 and get bounced early. The only time they've made it out of the suite 16 was 1999 when the Cinderella slipper still fit.

Re: March Madness!!!
Excellent point. But what happens when they move to the Big East? I would assume they lose the title of mid major then correct?Butler is still a mid major and they actually played in back 2 back championship games.

Indiana loses at home to Ohio State on senior night. So what team is going to win 6 in a row to win the tournament?

While the WCC is a mid-major conference I wouldn't call either GU or Butler mid-major at this point. In their 15 straight appearances, Gonzaga has been to 5 sweet sixteens and has consistently won games in November and December against ranked opponents while always playing one of the nation's most difficult non-conference schedules. And they've had 4 first round NBA picks over that stretch, so they're certainly not recruiting mid-major athletes.
